Title: 2 Questions
Post by: Erathsmus on October 23, 2011, 07:28:59 am
Why are troops when they are hired come naked?

Where do Bandits get their troops from if all fiefs are taken by factions?

You need to equip them yourself.

Where do Bandits get their troops from if all fiefs are taken by factions?
From other factions.

In current strat castels give more troops then other fiefs, in previous strats not all castles were taken by factions. I believe bandits will have enough places to recruit troops till the end of 3rd Strategus.

Where will they get money if all fiefs are taken?

They're still able to work in owned  fiefs, assuming that they're willing to pay whatever crazy entrance fee is required.

By trading in areas like DRZ's free trade zone or from playing crpg. Or being hired as mercs by factions.

You can work and recruit from wherever you want. When the fiefs are owned, however, probably clans increase the taxes for staying there, thus making it more expensive for people not of the same faction to hire (work) in those places.

But on the other hand, no clans would want bandits in their lands, so it's usually much safer there.

Another related question, is there any way to forbid someone from visiting a village?
I mean, this guy has raided clan X caravans 10 times, is there a way to prevent him from recruiting in fiefs by clan X?

You can manually kick people out.  You can also kill him.

They are bandits, they shouldn't work or trade.
Sooner or later we'll have better traiding system and more caravans to raid.

It would be nice if there was a way to craft in the middle of nowhere, but it had a lower chance of being produced.

Another Idea I was thinking of. When fief owners raise taxes too high, there is a chance that people can recruit outside but nearby the fief. Depending on how high the taxes are, there will be a higher % corralation to the chance of recruiting outside of that village. Kinda like having a population so upset, that they are willing to be hired by other forces because thier Lord is being abusive with taxes. This would also mean that the higher taxes you charge, the more likely bandit groups (player owned) will be outside of your village trying to recruit the population you have been taxing.

Well, even bandits need to recruit somewhere (maybe bandit camps similar to those in SP campaign).
Also, they need to sell the stolen goods somewhere, maybe to traders who will clean it, or directly to towns
