Title: Remove Mace Knockdown

we all know that something is wrong with the spiked devil mace

Maceweapon length: 70
weight: 2.8
difficulty: 8
speed rating: 99
weapon length: 70
thrust damage: 0 pierce
swing damage: 30 blunt
slots: 1
Knockdown



The knockdown on this weapon is retarded. It seems to happen SO MUCH

Its Faster then any other Knockdown weapon and due to its small size and speed harder to block then say the studded warclub or barmace. The fact it is 1 slot means its used by a lot of archers and xbowmen.


I would like to see the knockdown removed from this weapon. or if not the speed reduced a bit.

Any other ideas?

I'd rather have the weight reduced on it, so the knockdown happens less often.

ITT people whining when they got killed by short dildo of doom.

Seriously it is extremely easy weapon to fight against. It just seems to gather all the rage because it is the best sidearm for archers/xbowers at the moment. Just buff other sidearms.

Yes, just make bastard sword 1 slot weapon. Or Bec. Or Spear. Because atm Mace better than Fighting axe and cheaper than Langes messer. There are just no more choices in 1 slot 2H weapons.

Possible other 2h weapons that could be 1 slot IF the knockdown was removed from the mace, from a guy who's main is a 1h/pole hybrid and generally thinks 2h is eeez mode, but nontheless accepts that arhcers want to use 2h weapon instead of 1h no shield:

Axe, Two Handed Axe, Bastard Sword.

Although don't listen to me as I have this weird tough that more 2h/pole weapons should be 1 slot, more 2h/pole weapons should be 3 slot and that more 1h should be 0 or 2 slot.

Isn't knockdown based on weight? If a 2.8 weight weapon knocksdown that much, knockdown deserves a nerf. Reduce the chances of knockdown!

Not just that. There is a limit of knockdown probability (30% if I remember correctly) and STILL this light weapon knockdown just as often as the higher damage/heavier weapons. Reduce the chance of knockdown so weight (possibly damage too, but I'm against that) is the mist important factor.

when 75% or higher of archers (who have some points in a melee proficiency) use this as their side arm, you know there is a problem with balance.  numbers dont lie

reduce weight & slow it down some

Well, it's probably the best choice for them. 1-slot and still a lot of damage (blunt is also good for low wpf) + knockdown which can save an archers ass. I wouldn't say it's op, cause only very few dedicated 2h use it, but maybe the problem is that 2h is too good even without wpf.

fuck off form that... that weapon is so short is kind of 2h warhamer with lower damange....
you can't use shield with that (i know i can but it is so silly)
so hard to fight with someone, it is like face to face fight

I use 3-5 hits to kill an armoured guy and I'm a melee guy. archers and xbow not op, lol!

Yeah, it's not like it still had 30 blunt damage and 99 speed.  :rolleyes:


Seriously, i remember using that weapon... always with my archer/2h hybrid (yes, archer was a failure, i made a xbow now xD ), and with 1 PS, i could still knockdown pretty often. I knockdown the same guy 3 times in 6 clean hits (of course he didn't die, since 1 PS is... lol ) but it was really fun. :mrgreen:

(I know the topic is knockdown but...) Last time someone got upset about crushthrough, they took away 3/4 of the items that used crushthrough.
Now there's just a bunch of freakin shielders everywhere.

I have never had a problem with someone using this mace, unless they are so pro they can kill me with any given weapon.

I am guessing the person getting upset about this weapon is a shielder, because it makes it hard for you to face-hug.

Crushthrough and knockdown should be implemented on every melee weapon depending on where you hit them, and what your strength/ps is imo. But the weight should exaggerate or surpress these effects.

so now it looks so, this weapon use mostly only xbowmans, I use it, it help some times, just because messer and fighting axe glance more, it still need a lot of hits to kill some 1, and mostly i try to fing better some 2h or other long weapon if i will go melee on the field. but ok if you nerf it, i will take axe-it is pretty cheap 8-)

there are lots of shielders because there is so many bowman and xbowman running around :D and actually I have many chars :D I used it on my xbow guy and it was just retarded :D 3PS and every other hit i was knocking a guy down. not to mention i could spam the crap out of most 2h because of its speed. I dont want it totally nerfed i just want it to knockdown a little less or not at all :P

Are there seriously people here that don't think the mace is overpowered? Try using a mace and siege with decent blocking skills, you'll get loads of kills. People have trouble blocking it because of its shortness, and when they get hit its a 33% chance they get knocked down.

I remember last strat battle we had flamberges and dadao's on our side, the enemy team had maces, I kept looking for maces, cause they rock!

Not only the stats of the weapon make it almost on par with top tier weapons, it also costs only 4k. 2k before last patch. It should either be a lot more expensive or it should get nerfed.
