As I have said it numerous times here's what I think they should do if possible:
1) Shield bash to replace kicking.
2) Shield holding on foot on the realistic spot at the middle instead of this system.
3) Shield blocking should be directional like manual blocking. A successfull directional block with shield should do little to no damage to the shield. If the block direction is wrong the shield should then take damage but the hit should be blocked.
4) Pommel strike for 2h and unshielded 1h to replace kicking.
5) Strike with the middle part of the pole for polearms to replace kicking.
6) Archers etc. can live without kicking.
That's my recipe for perfect game :)
I love it, looks great. Would also be megasuperawesomecool to have shield rim shot bash as well. Shield goes horizontal and you smash someone in the face with the outer edge of shield
How is that stupid? For one you would get rid of the force field. Also you could with skill, low level shield and some luck take a ton of beating if you block to the right direction. That way skill with shield would be just as rewarded as skill with manual blocking.shields would last forever if someone is a decent blocker?

Changing that is just taking variety and tactics out of this game. I thought it's pretty obvious, but there, i've explained it for ya.

Perhaps I wasn't being detailed enough. Blocking normally would work the way it does now.Yeah sorry my mistake. But then again your suggestion would make shielders too powerful imo =).
I wouldn't care if they were the most super op thing in the game if realism is added :lol:Just started to play as shielder a month ago and loving it so far =).
I've played original mount & blade something like 20 times through. I've been in warband beta since 0.6<something> and I have never ever played a shielder. Even as a rhodok or swadian xbowman I always took 2 bags of bolts and no shield. I just hate how it is implemented.
