Remember that this is your place to tell me how I can improve as an admin. Saying I'm not a good admin, but not providing feedback does not help me improve at all. So please try and provide some reasoning that I will be able to work off of.

Good to see a dedicated siege admin, I am unfortunately one of those "Battle Snobs" who don't believe in respawn and am guilty of often neglecting poor siege.:?

Only been an admin a day, but people on NA_2 seemed pretty happy to see an admin there. I'm going to try and spend most of my admining time on siege since it gets neglected. Poor siege   :cry:

You're not the ONLY siege admin. When Mori plays, he usually plays siege with us and is an admin.

But yea, shit happens way to much in siege.

Don't expect this poll to be remotely serious. I'm not sure why this sub forum was created, I think it's just to let trolls scream out their angry instead of elsewhere.

You're on siege?  Goodmin.

I like, every few maps, to send out a public message saying something like "Press Q M U/D to upvote or downvote maps!"  It makes players feel like they're more in control of the rounds, and it reminds them that you're there.  Also, I find pith is best when it comes to admonishing - especially if you want to avoid any back and forth from some players.  My favourite line is "Don't teamkill."

Perhaps you should pay more attention to who is in game instead of trolling people. I topped the boards all the time when I was in TKoV and after that I took maybe a week off before showing up as a crossbow. Maybe if you had better observation skills and more manners you could be an admin as well.

Despite popular belief I actually really like LLJK and USA. I've played with you lot on several different games and for the most part you are fun to play with (with some exceptions). The issue of hypocrisy was in regards to a_bear_irl I assume. The reason he was warned was that he insulted a player absolutely without provocation while spamming chat. It's true that I should have give him some leeway, but everyone makes mistakes. I will try better in the future.

Badmin implies a bad admin. I disagree. Criticism: maybe use more of the purple text before doing something, pretty much just the time where votes were removed, it would have been nice if the reason had been given beforehand. But nothing major.

I wouldn't say you're a good admin, at least not from what I've seen playing with you.  This doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad admin either.

After playing with you, I noticed you dragged each round out more so than it had to be.  This isn't against any rules, however, I think it stands against what most people would prefer.  In my opinion, as an admin, this sort of thing you should be aware of and try and avoid.  On the other hand, you have a right to play the game as a player as well, so really it's a double edged sword.

In any case, my opinion of you is slightly below neutral on the negative side.  If this were a report card, a "Room for improvement" would be my final verdict.

I'm a bit confused as to your feedback. If you could narrow it down to what I need to improve on it would help a lot. My English is not amazing so keeping it short and simple would be best.

I realize it's ridiculous to hold an admin on a pedestal for play styles, however, when said play style is seen by the majority of players as being unwanted or detrimental to the enjoyment had in-game, then I think it becomes a fair target for admin critique.

I'm from Ireland. Although the main language spoken there is English; I went to a boarding school called Coláiste Íde for most of the time I lived there (Where Irish was the language spoken and taught). My English is pretty good, but I get confused on words sometimes, or when a conversation goes in circles.  :?

That actually sounds pretty awesome!  By Irish do you mean Gaelic??  Amazing there is a school that teaches using that, I like the maintaining of an ancient culture.

The language is Irish Gaelic (Which is different from Scottish Gaelic for instance), so to say simply "gaelic" is not technically correct. Most people just cal it Irish anyway.

Many private schools teach in Irish as it is a cornerstone of Irish Culture. Obviously losing your language would be a really bad thing to have happen. AFAIK public schools in RI teach Irish as well, but the primary language is still English (Irish is taught as a secondary instead of a primary).

Excessive force yesterday when you instantly banned Fallen guy (Fonru I think, something like that) for accidentally shooting teammate in the back of the head.  You were not in the vicinity yet you banned him on the spot.  He was attempting to shoot an incoming horse and someone walked into his shot.  He wouldnt have even had time to stop and type sorry before you banned him.  It was 15-30 seconds into the round so it wasnt like it was an instant round start intentional kill.

If by not in the vicinity you mean standing 5 feet away. And by someone moving into the shot you mean a horseman (Fallen_Zaleck) standing still. Then yes you are correct I did ban him.

I gave him a 1 hour ban (which for an intentional team kill is extremely generous). After talking with Zaleck and one or two others I decided that it was possible that due to his EU ping it was in fact an accident. Given my first hand view of it which again, looked pretty damn intentional; as well as the view points of several other people present, I reduced the ban to 15 minutes.

Additionally he had plenty of time to say sorry as it takes about 30-40 seconds to actually submit a ban (but you wouldn't know that of course). I find it ironic that it is considered "excessive force" when I ban someone you know (and were in TS with) who blatantly team kills, but it is not harsh enough, warning someone that team wounds/kills you (so you decide that killing/wounding them is justified http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,14270.0.html).

EDIT: at least it was only an hour, which gives you points in my book, and not three days to a week without question like these other admins

Came here to comment on the incident with the Fallen fellow. It was a accident. I witnessed it myself because I was standing right next to him. He and I were both watching the incoming enemy cavalry, I had my pike down ready and he took the shot, misjudging his angle and the closeness of Zaleck.

The second the TK happened he was apologizing on TS (I was on there too) and was so baffled by what happened he did not even begin typing a apology until just before he was kicked/banned off the server.

You did not inquire to see what it was about and just decided to kick/ban him. You jumped the gun on this one.

I actually do not remember that. If it did happen, it would not surprise me. As it has been made clear (in this very thread), that he does not like you as a admin and you resent that fact. Hence the back and forth comments between the two of you.

I find that very unusual that you don't remember. You made such a big showing of finding it funny. I remember it quite clearly, a bit hurt that someone I have never even talked to would say such offensive things.

Frankly I have no idea why Digglez doesn't like me. I have been nothing but courteous to him on the servers and even pay attention to the 2 or so ban requests he posts per week, every fucking week (as opposed to blowing them off because, honestly most of them are asinine as hell and the other admins have long ago given up on him). I've on several occasions left my team to spec people he has said were breaking rules, many of which were just accidental team wounds. All I get from it is constant forum downvotes from Mr. Digglez, who does not even deign to weigh in on a conversation, or enlighten me with his opinion.

So what I see happening, is Digglez wasting my time (time I use to help the community), then calling me a bad admin, a bad poster, and a bad human being. Naturally I'm going to be a bit peeved at this. Perhaps instead of riding his dick because he is your clan leader, you should take an objective look at what it takes to be an admin dealing with his repetitive often non-conclusive shit on a regular basis. Yet still I do it. Still I spend my very precious and very rare free time admining the servers so they aren't overrun by dickheads. Still I read every one of Digglez's ban requests. Still I put up with being called a "pms'ing cunt" because someone hopefully apprecieates the efforts of the admins. Still I do what I can to make the community better.

I doubt you will actually understand anything I am trying to impart, I'm sure it's dark with your head up Digglez's ass. But next time consider everything going on before picking a side.

Edit: As for the Fallen getting a 15 minute ban. I have heard not a single complaint from him. In fact I have kicked or banned at least 4 different Fallen for rule breaking since I got admin and they have been nothing but courteous afterwards. Even ones I have banned multiple times (I'm looking at you Savaris and Curtis) for rule breaking I have always gotten along great with. I even talk with Fallen_Loki when I ban one of his people and he has been nothing but supportive. Perhaps NH should take a lesson from Fallen and understand that admins are human beings as well, human beings that have a difficult job and can use support or rational conversations more than insults.

I think that could be my problem Vibe. I'd rather ban a rule breaker for 10 minutes and hope they learned their lesson than throw down an instant 3 day ban like every other admin. I guess I just need to stop trying to let people have a good time.

In any case I appreciate your sentiment, and as usual I have nothing but respect for Fallen and its members.

Firstly, at no point have I said anything offensive about anyone in this community, either on a TS or on these forums. I am not sure why you are implying I have or would.

I understand that in your position as admin, you must deal with constant ban requests and going spectator to watch supposed TWer's and TKer's instead of playing the game you enjoy. But as I understand it, admin powers are given to volunteers, who should know what they are getting into beforehand.

I also question why a down vote on a forum even bothers you? (Another question would be why such a system is even in place), I, for one, do not even notice being down voted or up voted. I can not answer as to why Diggelz does anything, so I will leave that to him. If he even wants to touch this thread again.

Strange thing about the Fallen, they are so nice to admins (not just the ones with two X chromosomes). Underneath their facade of evil they are all sweet-hearted nice guys and I love the lot of them.

Meh.  Personally, I like Coy.  She's one of the more active admins.  Really, giving someone a short ban for an accidental TK isn't even something I would necessarily oppose if it was bad enough.  I've certainly done this with my archer as well: tracking a horse, guessing about how much I need to lead it by, turning, firing, oops, right into a teammate's head.  He didn't move into my shot, I just was zoomed in tracking the horse and didn't realize someone would end up being in the way as I did a quick snapshot.

I think there are cases where people would agree with banning a player for "overly incompetent play", basically as a way of saying "That was so bad, I think you should go sit down and think about how not to be so reckless in the future".

It's dicey because it's a judgement call.  We certainly don't want every accidental TK to result in a 1 hour ban.  But I know if I had spawned in, was sitting there adjusting my spawn equipment or something and suddenly got an arrow in the back of my head from a teammate while not moving, I would probably be hoping to see that person get a short ban.

Too many words from you Coy, don't feel obligated to respond to every troll.  You made a mistake but all admins do, as TK'ing, even between clan members, is often intentional and sets a bad example for the server.  Admitting to a mistake and reducing/removing the ban is all you gotta do.  These kind of things shouldn't get too personal or insult throwing back and forth, explain yourself and your actions when inquired and move on.

Would you mind please Unbanning Shinma.  I was attempting to purchase a weapon and I couldnt' remember the game mechanics...the ones I was buying I didn't have the STR to use.  I had to save up more money to buy a new one.  I didn't realise you could just buy a dagger.
