Hi all
I start playing c-RPG from one year.
When i start playing the gain (XP-GOLD) system was different.
Gain X-G when an enemy die near you or you kill him, more Levels he was more X-G you gain.
Why you change it?
I think it was better .
Why don't make a new system :
When an enemy die near you or you kill him he give you X-G for each Level he is, when you win a round you get a moltiplicator.
Obviusly the X-G you gain it's something like 15 XP 10/5 GOLD.

Back to the OP, there were many reasons to change the game to how it is now, but I'm more of a fan of the older system also.

Whit this system if someone play in SeriusSam mode he will get nothing or too low X-G untill he get a multiplicator.

that is exaclty why you have to work as a team to get moar money/xp, amirite?

Problem is, developers of this mod probably think that kill rewarding is not good for this particular stuff, with which i would have to agree. But, let me mention the usual evolution of cRPG player:
Firstly, your char is born as a noob, especially if you start out alone, with no one to tell you how to do stuff and so on. You just go there, swing as retard trying to hit something, you get killed fast, you barely damage anyone, you get some teamkills as soon as you get somewhat better weapon and stats. You want to get kills, so you are pretty reckless.
Then you get to second phase, being the "careful" guy. You had some TKs and THs behind you, aswell as some kill, and you know that it helps if you do not kill ur friends now, so you start being overly safe, not swinging in group situations, being a good supporter role and all, but barely scoring any frags. From here there are two ways you can end up.
Either you become somewhat good, pay attention to surroundings, teammates, you even avoid walking behind teammates with chambered weapons, you can swing safely mostly, you are getting kills, you survive rounds and you help your teammates.
Or, you just do not give a shit anymore and just spam whatever you like wherever you like, you get a lot of kills, both enemies and friends.
In any case, sorry for wall of text, i guess my shift was way too boring, what i wanted to say: in other games the kill rewarding might be good, but it would for sure ruin this mod.

Come on, the point of warfare is to WIN not to get kills. The multiplier makes seige less a fragfest and more teamwork defense. Furthermore, in battle i can flank without losing EXP, and as long as i kill more than i die then i am helping my team. Working as a team means that individual rewards are removed to encourage teamwork. Plus, people who are amazingly good have chadz valour text.

Just remove upkeep and turn it pre january patch again when it comes to XP/Gold gain :D
Wasn't that much ppl killwhoring back then tbh. Not really when i compare to as much tk's ganks there are now.

I tried to suggest this but chazd said that there will never ever be thing like that.. no matter how much i tried to say that it would be very very small reward from the kill but NO =(

Am i the only one realizing that he's not talking about rewards for you only per kills, but the second rward system ?
You get xp and gold in a bank when ennemies die near you (sort of cone ahed of you and small circle on the side). If win, you get 100% of the amount in the bank, if loose, you get 20%.
The thing i liked about that system was knowing how much xp/gold that ennemy gave you (and your team) thus knowing if you defeated a high level character, or just a peasant. Nowadays, you just have to know the opponent's name to check if you did well or not.
And leechers are everywhere. Only yesterday, i took 7 screenshots of 2 xbow leechers, who would stay in a bush near spawn for more than 1 minute,idle , then start moving when half of the team was dead. If you survive longer, you get : injured opponents easier to kill with a ranged weapon (not getting ganked), and possibility of getting valour even if you were hiding in the beginning (wich is imo the most difficult time, when cavalry are there, and battles of 20 infantry occurs). Real... lame... Hate leechers.

People who focus on taking out cavalry or deal lots of damage to soften up enemies deserve a Medal.

YES FUCKING YES YES YES. Assists are unrewarded and its SO frustrating when I back off an oponent I have stabbed/cut a lot because a fucking reckless teammate has come in swinging all over the fucking place, and I cant be assed to be teamkilled, and he gets the kill on a almost dead opponent: I want credit.
ALSO: teamkilling should carry a question: "Forgive: 1/Yes 2/No" and all NO's should be cash deductions. This will make everyone rage at me right now, but it's not like I don't want the same thing applied to me. People need to more fucking careful when swinging, especially the teammate who is being attacked 2v1, you run from INFRONT of teammate, behind enemies, to make it clear to friend that Im coming to help him: arrive-> teamhit.....WHY?

But I do agree, I assist way more than I kill. Reward for assists would help me a lot.

- Some kind of profit for assist / killing (For example, valour for a good assistant)
- Hard punishment for team attackers. (The same as 1st, but on a negative kind like: Your bad behaviour on the battle field hath been rewarded)

Well, the negative "punishment" could be GREAT stuff, and taylored to the teamkill in question:
Team Horsebump a guy to death, next round your horses in your inventory are replaced by goats. Rideable, loveable, GREAT.
Teamshoot with a crossbow, next round you must use a Nerf (the foam rubber) gun.
Teamshoot with a bow, you must shoot chopsticks from a banana
2h teamkill: Dildo of death shall be you only usable item.

the main problem with the kill rewarding system was that a lot of people could have a plated charger and plate all the time, but you could solve that by just decreasing the gold you gain from combat and kills, i prefer the old idea too. and another reason for the change was teamwork, well it didn't change shit about teamwork. this system also discorages playing, because it is boring and you don't have to do anything to get gold and exp, it's become a long grind, which is for me a discoragement(though i still play it whenever i can :lol:)

Personal based rewards are inbalanced. Either your whole team gets more rewards, or we all get none. Simple. I really like chadz is taking care of his "baby" the way he wants.

I never really understood why people get so upset about kill-stealing/unrecognized assists... This really is a team based game.
I play a thrower and I throw darts at enemies and let my teamates get the kills.. And so what? I dont expect any thanks or rewards, I'm just doing the job I'm tasked to do, support. I know for sure whether or not I helped my team win. (I also do pretty well with my 1h/shield without throwing items too KDR wise; be a thrower if you want to be "support" and still get good number of kills. I think its fun though.)
If I'm feeling particularly bloodthirsty, I use my 2h main and pad my KDR pretty well (I use my 4.5k haubergon most of the time dont hate!)
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're a more than average player you shouldn't feel the need for assists since you're more than making a name for yourself. I feel some people use it for an excuse... If you're 0-6, I doubt your "assist" points would be worth much...
