Title: "Faith" Items

This is to balance/have fun with builds. So how about certain "0" effect equipments? ("0" effect means they do not enhance the character in anyway except in wpf)

Some ideas on how this works:

Wpf bonuses due to items inspiring "Faith"

Monk robes: +20 wpf
Turban: +20wpf
Silver cross necklace(helmet category): +20 wpf
Woad tattoes(body armor): +50 wpf
Rabbits foot(knife): +10wpf
Thor's hammer(1h): +10wpf

...

The list is endless to the many peoples of europe and asia.

And why would a robe give more WPF? What is the explanation? How could a piece of cloth make your melee attacks faster for an example?

This is not a basic MMORPG where you have sets of gear that gives you bonuses, like lighting immunity, or extra strength, and I guess it's going to stay that way. For good.

Cause people sometimes get inspired by their faith.........the equivalent I can give for todays world is this.......Regular guy fighting a dude on PCP.....wonder whose got the speed and strength advantage?

Okay, okay.

But we shouldn't forget that it's the Character who wears the clothes, and not vice-versa.

So this "item set bonus" thing is stupid, your character's development is giving you the ability bonuses.
Clothes and armour.. well guess what, only gives you protection.

Actually as dumb as that seems, thats be really cool too. Character traits gained based on ingame experiences.

Now that's a lot more imaginative.

It would need serious tweaks on the other hand, but I like this idea of yours better.

If folks dont like it too much, they could be made temporary. On a round set by round set basis.

No, random bonus to attribute, wpf or skills should not be in this mod. Infact, there should not be any such bonuses at all.

After reaching 100+ wpf faith points a player unlocks spell "allahu akbar" which makes him explode and kill everyone within 50 meters including plated chargers.

Leecher: Kill the last guy of the enemy team with your fists. Reward: +1% Gold/Xp per tick.

Faith - abstract state of mind bearing no real value or effect upon the physical body
PCP - tangible drug which causes changes in body chemistry

Faith is translated in cRPG through the desire of the players to inflict as much virtual bodily harm as possible and win.

You might call it 'player morale'. It's easy to see the difference it makes in clan scrims and Strategus.

However, I would approve of this if I could wear my enemy's severed penis around my neck.

I like this idea.  It puts more roleplay into cRPG. 

+1 for an interesting but not gamebreaking premise which gives devs a more opportunity to be creative/add game depth

Actually I already wear a monk robe and sacred turban for real when i play crpg, it does improve your blocking skill.

Also rubbing your mouse with garlic really helps against fallen's.

Did not find remedies against lljk though  :(

I can see archer/twohander builds sniping and spamming like crazy. Make them heavy with not much armor, many players are already good with light armor.

Berserkers used drugs to enter in rage, no?

Berserker drug makes that when you are hit you don't feel the stun effect but you can't block.

I like this idea. Would be great if carefully managed. Maybe you can have different effects kick in for high/low K/D, how often siege equip is used, whether you roll heavy/light/armour 'looks' e.g. nordic for a long time, if you get lots of kills with lower tier/higher tier weapons, how many times you head shot as an archer, xbow or thrower, whether you use long weapons (compensating) or short, if you kill players in the top ranks (head hunting made cooler), if you kill female characters as male, or vice versa, how many duels you've won/streak of wins, how many rounds of x5's you kept in a row, whether you sit close to spawn (camping) or attack closer the the enemies spawn, if you get to a certain place in DTV/finish it (defender of virgins would be a cool trait  :lol: ), if your char hits a certain age e.g. level 33.

 If it's strat related, give different traits for things like prolonged gold earning, recruitment, sitting in a tavern, exploring the map, sitting in another factions fief, commanding battles defensively/offensively/sieges, spending time exploring across the map. Shame they haven't got asists, or horsekills somewhere as well for in game. That would at a lot more scope. Certainly would add more of the rpg factor. Kinda like TW where your generals gain character traits for different reasons over time. Perhaps some could be perma, some could be temp.

I definitely like this idea. But no idea if it's all doable. It would make chars a lot more personal but would obvs have to be managed to not be op and maybe a cap on the number of traits one char can have.
