Maybe, but MVP shouldn't be the top KD whore and should instead use some different system.

Like Baggy said, it will make people go for more kills. Thats leads to 1) more tks 2) less teamwork 3) people with the best gear *cough* goretooth being the mvp almost all the time. Maybe if we had a dev watch every single match held in crpg and......

How about make a vote at the end of a map and the top 10 players are selected from each team with their own team picking the players?

Thanks, so pretty much people ask for kill rewards (or some sort of different stuff rewards) for performing well other than the win of the team/valor msg? Ah cmon.

How about a reward for ppl, who did a lot damage to the enemy, but didnt get kills?
Edit: Thought about it again and its stupid, as the top killers dont get a reward either. So forget about that :D

I say we just remove K/D whatsoever, so ppl would focus more on teamplay than hoarding kills. Keep the tracking on website tho :P

Let's define a "value" for each player :
estimated value = time survived * ((kills + damage inflicted) * average level of damaged enemies * average equipment value of damaged enemies + square root of (number of successfull hits + number of successfull blocks + number of successfull shots))
Each factor must be tweaked by a scalar defining it's importance. The averages must be weighted accordingly to the damage done to each enemy. The square root on hits, blocks and shots is there to discourage people from stacking it intentionally (abusing).
To get an even better formula, we could think about average life expectancy of nearby allies, damage count of nearby allies etc.

Like people before me are saying, leads to kill/damage whoring which is very bad for earlier stated reasons.
And the whole thing about countering upkeep all the time.. Realy? It's supposed to be the same for everyone so we actually have to make some choices on our gear.

Upkeep isn't much of an issue for most of us. The 'top' players in whatever sense have probably been around for a while; if they're playing their main or a frequent alt, they likely have enough gold stored up that they needn't worry about it.
And in any case, upkeep isn't an issue at all for a lot of builds, since many players choose lighter (and incidentally, cheaper) armor primarily for reasons of speed. You really only need to worry about it if you're going for a fairly heavily armored build and/or using the fancy horses. Sometimes newer players don't realize this since repair happens randomly, and all they notice is 'zomg, I just had to pay 3k gold for repairs!' - even though it may average out that they're actually still turning a profit.

I say this but a few tweaks. Keep deaths, remove kills and replace that with TKs.

I don't know about this system. If it means good players get gold or have to repair less then once again we are splitting the divide between good and bad players.
Also MVP shouldn't be decided by K/D as everyone says. There should be a formula with kills, deaths, damage dealt, time spent alive, etc etc
Anyways I don't like the idea of E-peens getting any larger than they already are.

Eh, removing KDR would be stupid. People generally enjoy having some kind of scoreboard for a game, and part of the fun is trying to rank on it.
Obsessing over your KDR isn't really any worse than obsessing over your team winning because you need that multiplier so you can get the xp to retire for the 17th time ;)
