I'm lvl 31 with 139 wpf in 2h. Build is 28/12, 4 weapon master. My MW highland claymore keep breaking often and cost me 899 every time. So what's the deal, Strength players with less wpf will break their weapons more often then agil player? This is unfair, I'm gonna break the bank if things don't change.
And with higher upkeep cost and less chance of breaking, but does that equal more upkeep overall?

Considering that strength builds are better it's justice.

AS a str build u can skimp on a lot of stuff like good armour or top tier swords as ur build will buff meduium lvl stuff to be just as good as a hier tier item in a balanced players hands.

If little old crappy skilled me can do this with a 36/3 11IF 12 PS guy using a HBS and robes, I am confident that STR builds do not require significantly more Armour any more then AGIL builds. Barely positive KDR but still... not bad for a nitch build that rarely uses armour and a HBS.

You seem to forget that shielder build have to carry a weapon and a shield and you are mostly a str build because if you go agility build with a shielder you wont kill anyone. So i think its even more unfair then your 2hander build that kill everyone in one hit.
-
if you go agility build with a shielder you wont kill anyone.
Tell that to Matey.
Anyway, I think upkeep should be higher for exactly this reason. STR builds > AGI builds at the moment, and the more you bump up the upkeep, the more the teeter-totter will level out. The only issue I think is players sitting on mountains of gold who can ignore upkeep regardless.
-
ok let me rephrase that, agility build with a shield and sword wont kill anyone.

yeah, like Kinngrimm. He doesn't kill anyone with his agi build.

Upkeep sucks for strength players because you are probably under 100 prof, most strength crutchers have anywhere from 100-130 prof, the prof being greatly reduced by the heavy crutch armor you guys wear effectively giving you prof under 100.
-
Why do you keep calling everyone a crutcher

Is your boy using a sword or a blunt or piercing weapon?
With a score of 15 of str and 5ps if your using a 1h sword you need minimum 4 hits to kill someone that is high level. And if someone is using heavy armor 60 + armor rating you will barely deal any damage to him.
But the point is that someone complain that str build cost too much upkeep using only 1 weapon, while shielder have to carry 2 essentials things in their hands.

My two essentials, broken together, cost about 700 gold. That's less than the cost of the OP's one weapon. I also currently have hundreds of thousands in gold.

not to mention those god damn skill crutchers with their skill!

I'm at a high enough level to consider most (all) players skilless compared to me except a very very few.

The new upkeep system doesn't suck in any way for strength players, especially not for those who only uses one weapon like two handers.
It's a bit worse for those who uses all four weapon slots like throwers, xbowmen and archers... so I think the new upkeep system is both balanced and fair.
It only makes sense that higher proficiency makes your weapon break less often.
BTW, anyone knows if higher riding skill makes your horse die less often?
-
Just retire and go Agi next gen, i make so much money now its retarded. I also get more multis for some stupid reason.

Then Mr. Balton, your opinion is pretty much invalid as you judge the game on what you can achieve and not what the average player can (or even what other top players can as only a half dozen people even come close to your skill), and thus you are pretty much useless as a result when talking about game balance as it would not apply to the vast vast vast majority of the player base...
If you were to, however, offer a perspective on the game for balance and suggestion purposes that is aimed more towards what us mortals can achieve then perhaps you could stop wasting both your time and ours? Until the rest of us achieve Balton level superhuman godly qualities such as yourself, we can not help but ignore and care little for your opinion, for it is like a rat trying to learn how to fly from an eagle by listening to the advice.

I don't see a problem with the upkeep, and I'm a str build. I consistently gain money with a x1 using straw hat, black lamellar vest, red wisby gauntlets, splinted greaves and a longsword. Since the patch I've only lost 6 body and leg armor, and I've made at least 85k since then, not including money lost from things I've bought. So as a recommendation, use slightly weaker armor at x1, and from x2 up use whatever you used before, and voila, insta-cash.
-
Most of the time I wear Kuyak with Great Helmet and Scale Gaunlets (I consider that a middle to heavy armour), using different polearms up to Glaive. I almost break even with that... winning some, loosing some but staying at the the same amout of money after some battles. I'm fine with it. There's no real need in money anyway - what should I buy with it?
-
Upkeep is fine. Stop using heavy armor.

This. I backed off my normal suit of armor and use light armor for 1-2x multi, 3-4x my normal gear, 5x for plate. Since Monday I have made about 55k. Upkeep isn't a big deal if you plan accordingly.

strenght players have there strenghts in an 1v1.
but there easily ganged cuz they cant suprise enemies by suddenly turning around or stuff there to slow for that.
they are at there best when there near teammates with either an maul or an long wep.
but there slow and they cant keep up with there team very well.
str players tend to fall behind and get cav spammed or become the lucky target of 4 agi or balanced players.
while agi can go alone.
run away for problems.
can stick with there team easily.
have high wpp and have better footwork for that matter.
i just say nothing with them both is OP,there just as good it depends how u use ur build.

Tell that to this Long Spear
*hefts trusty weapon*

AGI and ATHL only effect running. Turn speed is dictated by how fast you can turn your mouse or the sensitivity of your mouse. Spin-stabs or quick instant turns are equal for everyone regardless of if they have 3 AGI or 45 AGI and 15 ATHL.

+1 and fixed
did you know that you can get
30 str (+30 hp and some dmg)
10 ps (A SHIT LOAD OF DMG)
4 athletics (Just enough to reverse directions in good time)
4 WM (141 prof, 10 WM is only 40 prof higher)
The more you know
