Been seeing quite a lot of team attacks lately. Specially when I was playing as a front line shielder. All the 2h guys behind me chopped me down like there were no tomorrow.
Just wondering what the communities take is on how team damage should be dealt with.
-
None of the above.
50% to target and 1% to self (so that you stagger yourself) is what I prefer on servers.
-
Current is fine.
As for reflected damage I feel the need to quote Espu again.
Discussed over 9000 times. Not gonna happen on official servers.
-
Well if the goal is to keep it realistic then it should really be 100%. Could as well have it 50%/50% as is. At least that would make the full force of the missed blow damage his team which is more realistic to me.

That's how it is now, and that's what I recommend as well. It discourages people kicking their teammates consistently.

I don't know if realism was ever the goal of c-rpg, but the teamkilling here is beyond anything I've ever seen. Often I don't even have to be near the fight for some derp to accidently let loose a blow. (And due to me having the constitution of a gopher, I die.)
I always preferred 100% self damage. It wards effectively against all kinds of teamkilling and makes people more careful.
-
Disagree. With 100% reflective people will be even more retarded with their play style. They'll see that they cant be hit by teammates and just completely go crazy with their movements...
wait I take that back, they already do.
-
the trolling potential of 100% reflective is just as strong. You just walk infront of your teams attacks.
-
it happens, to everybody, deal with it
-
what people forget is that once its 50% 50% self it basically wounds the team even more that means if you happen to teamslash it would be very bad for your team so just for me the most logic option just is 50% live with it happens sometimes

What he said!

as much as it sucks to get attacked or killed by a team mate, i vote 100% damage...
-
If it were up to me I'd make it 100% damage and with a penalty in gold to the TKr. Also any whiners about it would be ignored. Those who TK often would have to learn to play better. Yes I know griefers could exploit this but so what. Any GOOD player will be able to know how to avoid being a victim of them anyway and any griefer who builds up a rep for doing stupid stuff will be banned by any decent admin sooner or later anyway so I don't see the problem. Except for players who are not very skilled still wanting to be able to swing like mindless idiots. I suggested a while back to give a bonus to those who did NOT TK but that was poo pooed on because apparently the TKers would feel 'left out' or something.

50% damage and 50% self. That prevents you from killing full hp teammates without dying yourself and it teaches you a lesson if you hit someone but doesnt affect you TOO much.

I posted this not long time ago in another Thread, so I feel free to use it again because it shows my oppinion:
I dont think we need a punish of loosing XP or Gold.
Just remove the Team Damage! and add mirror dmg instead!
That means if u hit a friendly player u get the dmg instead, and the friendly player doesnt get harmed!
Same for horses, if someone hits a friendly horse he gets the dmg instead. Same for teambumps with horses, the horse rider gets the dmg for the bumping.
With that system only the one who does teamdmg gets punished a little bit, but the one who received the teamdmg does not get punished.
Loosing Gold or XP would count as a double punish. For the one who hits his teammate, and for the teammate who gets hit and then probably looses a fight because of low HP.

voted for 100% self, nough said! point
-
i voted 100% self would be epic fun watching str stackers 1hit themself

Imo this is a good idea, but now people are going to flame that a lot of people intentionally jumps into another swing, but that's BS. Only retards doing that. Also this would solve those F******* teambumpers with horse problem.

Keep it realistic when we can.
100% normal FF
and XP/gold penalties for TK (depending on victim's level and equipment to discourage trolling ?)
-
Does reflective damage take armor differences in account? So if I teamhit my tincan mates with a hit that wouldve hurt them to a quarter of their health, will I be hit with the same hitpoint reduction? Or might I kill myself cause my light armor doesnt protect as well as my mates armor woud've.
By the way I'm completely for a gold and xp fine when you teamhit or only when you teamkill, make it nasty so it really discourages people to be morons.

Best is what we got right now. With reflective damage it sucks coz each team hit means 2 stunts and that is just silly. 50% reduced damage is the best option. And you cant say its not realistic. If you need to apply logic to everything in your lives...its 50% coz if you are going to hit a friend, and you notice it, you wont hit with full power, you will try to minimize the hit. And it happens in real life in many everyday's thing. Never been playing football and realizing that guy is from your team so the kick is much softer?... never been playing squash or similar and the other guy just walked in front of your swing?.... i didnt play squash in 15 years but it happened, and be sure you arent going to hit that guy at full power if you notice he is actually in middle of your swing....
