Why the hell is there a "cooldown time" for STF chars? I really don't get it. :|
-
Strategus.
-
I thought alts cant participate in Strategus?
-
This change makes me sad.
Was a fan of STF, but now I might as well make a regular character. Time for some gen 1 grinding, or wait another 7 days. Tough choice.

You do realize you can STF a main?

Of course. But why am I not able to STF on an alt everyday?

I guess to prevent spawning tons of STF-ed chars with ridiculous builds.
-
what? You can still create chars with ridiculous builds, dont you?
I thought that STF was made to try out new builds and see how they work and now you can create one build the week and have to hope that it works fine for you (instead of deleting it and try a new one when you see that this one fails).

Hm, I guess it wasn't made to test builds then.

Having one insta lvl 30 alt without having to level?

In b4 weekly troll events

Maybe. But still, why is there the cooldown time on stf alts?

This is sad :(

Use your brains. The cooldown is to prevent people respeccing for every map, they actually have to play with their character a bit.

I doubt anyone would respec every map, especially since you don't earn anything by playing STF chars. STF is good for testing builds so I really don't see the point of a cooldown. Furthermore, ridiculous builds shouldn't be a problem in the first place.
A cooldown timer makes buying cd keys still useful. I got 2 cd keys and I don't really need many STF chars but I imagine it will piss many people off for no reason.
-
its probably there so people won't simply roll whatever is needed in strat.. archers for castle defence, perhaps cav for steppe battles etc.

I really don't see the problem with this... Not the same game but still makes some sense.

How long is the cooldown time?

Yeah thats a valid argument, but still : Alts cant participate in Strat, so why is the cooldown time there, too?
How long is the cooldown time?
1 week.

Thats actually not too bad. Maybe get a third cd key??

What the hell? Im talking about STF alts, not mains...

A one hour cooldown would prevent players from respeccing for every map.

Agreed. I used to change my STF builds so often just to try out all kinds of different builds no matter how ridiculous they were. Now no more
-
Damn it... note that using Skip the Fun on a character you've already leveled up a bit and assigned stat/skill points to does not reset those points, so be sure to delete and re-create the Alt first if you want to freshly distribute points.
Now I get to wait a week, bleh.

why re-create? Just respec with this alt and stf on a new char
-
The STF system for mains and alts is not separated (I'm guessing), therefore to prevent respeccing every few hours to what is needed in Strat, the cooldown is 7 days.

At the same time, I want to tell that we are forbidding the use of multiple Warband serials per player. This is, for now, just an information, and not being punished. It's merely an official announcement to prepare for it. In the future, it will probably lead to the 2nd serial being banned altogether if it is just running parallel, and both being banned if it was used to exploit. Just saying

Few hours? I am waiting since I skipped the day before the new patch ( goddamnit ) to create the new one, and respeccing for strategus is just dumb. You spawn far away from where you want to be at 95 % chances, and it takes days, atleast 4 ( What happened to me, atleast twice already ) to reach the position where I want to be.
The cooldown shall be there only for the main, and I'd also lower it a bit.
-

No, is anyone even listening, this is to prevent strategus abuse not crpg maps
Lets say you have a battle at 8pm and 10pm at the 1st one you atack the castle and at the second one you defend. So if STF had no cooldown you would just roll shielder for the 1st one and storm the castle while rolling archer for the second one and defend it. It doesent matter if you get only 10k gold for it because the crpg gold is not related to strat, you use the gear the commander bought for atacking/defending the castle.
-
Make it 1 day long, or far more easily put the cooldown on the main only...
-
why re-create? Just respec with this alt and stf on a new char
You can't re-spec a character you've use STF on.
Also, the cooldown timer is global. E.g. if you Skip the Fun on one character but mess up the stats, even if you delete that character you cannot use STF at all, on any character, for 7 days.

Captain Obv... Wait a minute... U trol me?
Of course STF should have the cooldown. I can't see even one good argument not to, atleast for main characters. When it comes to alts, the cooldown time could be deleted, but in the other hand would it be a good thing? I think alts exist because people want to try something else than their main and have fun with all kinds of classes. That doesn't nessessarily mean that everyone should be able to change their class everytime they want.
-
Captain Obv... Wait a minute... U trol me?
That was clarification for a person who seemed to think that the STF timer is by character rather than global.
-
One question about this, how can I find if I can use STF again without deleting the character? I have to wait a few days before retiring my main, wanted to try a stupid build on my STF alt, but I can't remember which day was when I used it before...
