That basically puts bows to how they were before they were ever changed to cut damage.
Xbow's speed rating is so high as well that its going to be a ranged fest for a while.
Too bad my university starts again today so I won't be online much ahha.
In effect my longbow has been buffed in missile speed and accuracy, if ever so slightly. Damage is the same from what I can gather, 33 damage Masterwork longbow, 3 arrows, 36 piercing damage, pre patch was 29 and 7 therefore 36 piercing damage.

I remember hearing from someone, probably Shik, that the crossbow speeds were increased while the actual animations used were slowed down. So in effect, the crossbows end up reloading about as fast as they did before the patch, but it removes the delay on shooting that you experience with slower xbows like the arbalest.
Or something along these lines. Don't get freaked out by the new xbow speeds, basically.
No issues, playing now. Horse bump animation looks retarded. Desert horse riding skill 6 and plated charger 5... makes perfect sense (sarcasm). Throwing lances are indeed 1 shot kills. Maybe I am paranoid but been playing 20 minutes now and ranged already seems more abundant :/

Throwing is hilariously good again. Even I can top the scoreboards with it while playing half-assedly.
I wouldn't say it's hilariously good, remember that throwers can carry few ammo, and also with jarids it takes 2-3 hits to kill an enemy with average armor and IF. Crossbows and bows are still better than throwing weapons.
Ah, I forgot to say that unless you spend a huge amount of wpf in throwing weapons, it will say that your proficency is too low, and this means that you can't have a pure strength build.

It's an increase of +2 for the courser and +3 for the arabian. Who has 7 riding? Not to mention your anecdotal info about 'the cav you know' actually has nothing to do with how a char is built. There is a world of difference to those who play cav as their main.
The only people who benefit are HA and HXbows.

Well I saw quite a few people riding arabians today. Lancers. So plenty of people apparently. The cav I know are largely dedicated mains and I know exactly how most of them are built. So yeah...
Funnily enough I was the only HA on though that was riding a courser. The rest were on rouncey, destrier or steppe. So your theory is apparently wrong.

That would be kinda pointless. Increasing requirements for the faster horses makes it so the rider is not as 'tough' and thus balances well with the horse not being the 'heavy' role.

try to ride a naked nervous and fast horse OR try to ride a heavy, slow moving horse that has been trained during years for not being afraid of combat and going straight with only a few foot movement of his rider ( because the rider generally had the two hand busy ) think about it...
