If you just leave both servers open, it will split the population and make both suck.

It has to be one game mode at a time, until we get more people.  Bringing in (and forcing) siege for a fraction of the time WILL draw in more old players.  Once we have critical mass, we open both servers permanently.

So after a year-ish hiatus, I logged on to see that 1) they finally added my favorite armor (Ritterbruder), but unfortunately 2) the m0d is dead. Oh well, at least I can stand around on an empty server looking awesome.

I loomed one and put it in the armory if anyone else wants to play "Lonely Dress-up Simulator", i.e. cRPG circa 2016.

Phew, come back.  The Mod has been resurrected.

Saturdays, however, are typically a lower pop day.  For siege to be enjoyable you need a good number of players.  I'm sure the details can be worked out. 

I was actually good in siege -- this would be a dream come true.

Most people like battle best, and that is cool. 

Population has been growing lately.  It is known that even more people would come back to the game if siege was a possibility as well.

HOWEVER, right now, there aren't enough people to populate a 2nd server, and we don't want to split up the population we have.  That would be terrible.

THEREFORE, it was agreed upon in a discord conversation that once day week we should turn off the battle server (or password protect it) and turn on the siege server -- and to add to the appeal, give an XP bonus for that day on the siege server.

The rest of the week, the siege server would be down or password protected.

I think Sunday would be nice...Siege Sunday with XP boost!  Chime in with your thoughts.

What do you think, Dupre & Co.?

since jumping when an archer is trying to shoot you is pretty much suicide automatically losing 1/6th of your health.

I agree for sure. I was mostly rating based on balance for all classes so it was somewhat objective, but that doesn't mean ALL the poorly balanced ones shouldn't be in the rotation since variety is good.

That makes sense.  Maybe the spreadsheet can be updated to say "balance rating" instead of just "rating" or something.

I'm just worried the "masses" will simply vote the highly rated maps and dismiss the others that are rated lower, and we'll lose some really fun ones.

Thanks for organizing this, but I take some issue with your rating system and comments.

Not ALL maps have to be good for ALL classes ALL the time.

It's OK to play a cramped map sometimes -- I like them.  Get in close, clusterfuck.  Ranged and cav may struggle, but it's fun stuff.

Sometimes we need a cav map to let people stretch their legs.  Get the pikes!

Some maps may favor ranged, and adds a new dynamic and hazard to cope with.  It's fun and keeps it interesting, in my opinion.

"Perfectly" balanced maps are good too!  Keep them in rotation and have lots of them, of course.

We also need small maps.  Servers are never full (I predict population will trend upwards for a while, then slowly downwards) so don't discount small maps.  Very important.

I like the khyber knife.  It's for when you need a dagger than can cleave.

Plus: It's got enough length to almost be a real weapon

Cons: It's not as humiliating when you kill someone with it

I've got an heirloom exchange, and I don't want it to expire.

The highest bidder can give me their heirloom and I'll respec it to whatever they want and return it post haste.  This is legit.
