Scene Editing / Re: Scene Editing: How To

Wondering about Entry points in regards to player spawns, is there some sort of categorization on the numbers besides them being split bewteen defenders and attackers?

In example entry point number 32 being infantry or other type of class role as compared to say entry point #42?

Nope, if we're talking about battle, only entry points 0 and 31 matter at all.  Each one denotes a spawn for the entire team.  Siege is a little weirder.  There's a good thread about entry points on the Taleworlds forums.  I think the link to it is somewhere in this thread.

It should be simply linked to the account, which is in turn linked to the CD key.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Power Draw in current version of cRPG?
« on: August 02, 2011, 02:38:34 am »
Uh your experiment is nil if you werent comparing the SAME BOW with different levels of PD.  Switching bows accomplishes nothing as they each have their own accuracy rating

Actually, you're wrong.  It's true they have different accuracy ratings, but the accuracy rating generally INCREASES with the higher-tier bows.  My experiment however shows that with a constant PD skill, the LOWER-tier bows are more accurate in practice.  This easily confirms that the lower-tier bows are therefore getting an accuracy bonus for the additional PD the character has OVER the requirement of the individual bow.  Therefore, it directly addresses the OP's question.

EDIT:  Your proposed experiment would also be an effective way to test this phenomenon however.

Power Draw definitely increases accuracy.  How it compares with WPF is unclear to me, but you can see a gif animation I made to compare bows here.

http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,12057.0.html

I used the same character, and simply switched bows.  The bows with lower PD requirements are progressively and significantly more accurate, confirming that having PD above the requirement improves accuracy.  My guess is that the base Accuracy Rating of the bow is altered proportionally by some value derived from the ratio of your PD versus the bow's required PD.

How then to create the most accurate archer possible?  The jury's still out, since I don't understand yet how WPF affects accuracy.  When I get to make another "skip the fun" character I'll do another test, at which time I'll also try to test whether rate of fire is affected by PD, but I'm fairly certain that that depends entirely on WPF.  The other question to investigate is how long you can hold the crosshairs steady.  The easier bows allowed for MUCH longer sustain, but this was also true of another archer character I made who only had PD 4 instead of 7.  So I think the higher PD bows just don't maintain their aim as long, regardless of the character's PD.  Still need to test.  Hope this is helpful!

P.S. I have no idea why the Horn Bow was so out of place in this test, that's why I posted the animation in the Bug Forum.

Okay, well I dunno what was up with mine while I was testing.   I did end up creating a gif to compare them all and I put the Horn Bow at the end.  Here's the animation where I stand in the same exact spot aiming at the same point with the same character, just different bows:

cRPG Technical problems / Horn Bow Accuracy Bug?
« on: July 29, 2011, 10:41:03 pm »
I'd love it if someone else could confirm this.  I don't really even use the Horn/Strong Bow anymore but I know a lot of people do so I wanted to mention this.  I was doing a crosshair comparison with all the various bows with my 7PD, 163 WPF Archer, to see how large an effect additional PD had on accuracy.  The testing proved that the bonus is significant enough that my lower PD bows have markedly tighter crosshairs even with a lower accuracy rating.  However, while testing, I noticed that for some reason, the Horn Bow's crosshairs were at least TWICE as bad as any other bow I had.  According to it's PD requirement and Accuracy rating it should have been slightly better than the Longbow I was looking at, but it was definitely MUCH MUCH WORSE.  Unless the game was just behaving oddly for me specifically, there seems to be some quirk that makes the Horn Bow far less accurate than its statistics suggest and indeed, FAR less accurate than all the other bows in general.  Since this is such a popular bow, I have to assume that this phenomenon is quite new and I wanted to bring my discovery to the developers' attention.  I can post screens if necessary, I'm just lazy.   Like I said at the beginning, can anyone else confirm this?

Are we allowed to submit more than once?  I'd like to make a few.  Here's my first attempt.  I tried to capture the most important, iconic, and generally acknowledged aspects of the game.  Something we could all get behind.  Feedback welcome.

EDIT:
Thought this one might appeal more to the developers. (cough)

Scene Editing / Re: WTF DID I DO!!!!!

That would scare the shit out of me if I was intoxicated.

The first time this happened to me while map editing, I WAS intoxicated, it was late at night, and I had moody music playing in the background.  I nearly pissed myself.

There is a flag you can add to scenes.txt to make the map "indoors".  All it does is lower the ambient light a little bit.  Sadly not enough to do anything in which torches would be useful.  We're just gonna have to wait for M&B2 for better lighting.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Arrow Opinions
« on: July 26, 2011, 07:50:33 pm »
You will do the damage of the bow. IGNORE the type of damage dealt by the arrows.

As for which arrows vs. cost, how badly do you need money?  My archer character always has plenty of cash lying around, so I go with the most expensive.  If you're trying to save up though, I'd go with Tatar's.  They strike a good balance between cost and performance.
