It's rare, but there are people who can take out 10+ guys at the end of rounds by themselves or with a tiny group. I find that more entertaining than if they had used some sort of overpowered weapon.

Slowed down combat system = Guy who takes out 10+ guys doing unlimited blocking ferrrr days.

Not fun

Yes.. boulder on a stick.. lol. Looney tunes axe. Crpg may have been a bit more fun then but it may just be looking through rose colored glasses. Dat nostalgia.

Plus it was when I first started so killing anyone was epic. Huddling together with other peasants then getting slaughtered when someone on the other team found our camp... bodies scattered everywhere with felt hats and tattered clothing while the metal clad hero that found us went on to kill the other half of the team. Especially when it was goretooth.

Yes, I know from whence I came! Discontented as a flame, Upon myself I live and glow. All I grasp like lightning flashes, All I leave behind is ashes
Flame I am - that much I know!

I haven't played this mod since the beginning but I did play it since before many nerfs took place. It was way more fun before. More fun to watch and play. There were 'heros' back then which made things much more exciting and fun than now where everybody is basically the same and restricted to a more narrow range of levels and gear. Anytime the 'possibilities' in a game are narrowed it becomes less interesting.

Agreed with Tiberius, I don't want classes that can effectively counter everything they encounter in game.  I want people to have to make the decision to go min/max on one class, or to be a hybrid.  I want people to work with teammates so that my weakness is my buddies strengths and vice versa...

Despite all the nerfs to fix previous nerfs and the game never going to be "perfect", I prefer where we're at now than 1.5 years ago.  I do wish the speed of the melee would be higher, but I digress.

here I go again:  I miss the old days, the heroes that were hard to be overcome,  overpowered tanks plowing down half a team.  guys that it took those 20-30 guys to kill, ha.
mind you,  I was one of those 20-30 guys.

give us back 2h crush through charger cav (DEDE!!!), pin point archers and super shielders!!  AAAAAHRG!

I was the one that was hunting you and made you rage a lot ;]

And yeah, in that time crpg was more fun
Guerra, guerra nunca cambia

Sorry for my bad english :d

It's the "good old days" cliché all over again; people tend to remember only the positive aspects and completely disregard all the issues the mod had back then. Besides, you can bring back old item stats and game mechanics, but there is no way to revert player skill increase or meta.
We'll stick with evolution, thank you.

Meh those days are gone, although bringing back a bit of the madness would be nice. In other words a combination of the best elements from both.

To be fair, balance can be achieved by forcing everyone to use sticks and stones while naked, with the same stats. There we go, roughly equal footing.

Ignoring internet, computers and real life situations.
