Hey everybody,

I will keep this short since James updated his post in General. I took a look at the patcher and the back end of the cRPG website and database. The amount of time it would take for me to try and fix the patcher and continue developing cRPG is not something I am willing to invest. I got laid off in July and am starting a new job at the end of October and I know once that starts my interest in working on cRPG will be infinitely less than it is right now. I am sorry everyone that this is how it turned out but it is what it is. The NA servers will be going down on October 7th but I will provide server files for anyone that wants to host their own servers. Once again I am sorry it turned out this way and thanks for the interesting times as a player and Developer (a bit of a shit one at that).

Sincerely,
Horns

General Discussion / Map Rotation Survey
« on: June 27, 2017, 03:53:27 am »
Yo peeps,

Vote on the maps you want to keep in the current Battle map rotation! There is about 120 total split over 2 surveys.

Pt 1 https://goo.gl/forms/fH6KHYjkkY4zDAM72
Pt 2 https://goo.gl/forms/K4FKYJayfOhaXDoh2

Sorry the questions are all required! Used somebody elses script. Will make my own at some point!

That is all for now!

Love,
Horns

Edit: Definitely some duplicates, oh well

Hey kids,

Let me know what I need to do better on or let me know what I am doing good at. You can also come here and get salty if I kick/ban you for breaking the rules. Pray for me.

Intro
I want everyone here to do something for me. Every time they are getting shat on by ranged (or shitting on others while ranged). When you are getting dookied on (or distributing dookie) look at the situation and answer these questions:

Qeustions:

(click to show/hide)

I know this is a lot to remember and write down but I have reasons for needing the info from every question (which can be explained if you want).

Reason for this Experiment
From my experience before and after this patch it was never about the builds of range players but the team balance of specific classes. Team balance prioritizes (I think) in this way: Banner>Score>Chemical X (some of these rules are broken if given a specific situation ex. a player on a banner stack is doing amazingly well while the other team is getting snubbed). I have no idea what chemical X is (it may not even exist) but I am a assuming there is more to team balance than banner and score. With the current balance system, a person's class is most likely not taken into calculation when team balance occurs. Using this data I want to try and come up with new logic behind team balancing which I will put in my suggestions thread for presentation. Something along these lines: (Class and Banner) > Score > Chemical X.

The goal is to have range/cav/melee (just to start) all split equally across teams based on their banner. So if one team has a lot of ranged on the same banner all other archers not on that banner should be moved to the opposite team. This would maintain a distribution of classes on both teams while keeping banner balance an equal priority.

Banners should have equal priority to classes because: 1. it is a large part of community building 2. Team work is still a thing on most banner stacks 3. A shitload of people would rage if Class>Banner. If there is an extremely unlikely situation where a majority of ranged on the server is also on the same banner there would need to be a distinction between which holds more weight banner or class. This problem is too big to address without knowing what the data will tell us.

There are a lot more factors at play than the questions provided (like the balance that is currently happening will effect some of these questions) but the ones given should be enough to start getting data. Of course if the data shows that it's not an imbalance of range players then team balance is not a ruling factor in range overpowering servers. (but I have personal experiences that would refute this most of the time)

If anybody has more input on how to make this experiment better let a brother know. I don't play as much as most of you and there might be more to consider than what I have posted here. If you came here to bitch and whine about ranged being OP or ranged being UP go to another thread. There's like 10 of them.

Thanks for the help people!

All the best,
That Horns Guy

Future Ideas
(click to show/hide)

Ideas created on 02/17/16

Master volume setting.
Adjusts both sound and music based on the percentage of what the master volume is at.
Example equation:

This would allow the overall adjustment of the game sounds while still maintaining the balance between music and sound

Q shouting menu favorites list.
I only use about maybe 10 shouts altogether from the huge list that is given and most of them require 2 hands to press because the keys I need are so far apart. My suggestion would be to use the QQ submenu as the favorites menu and keys qwerasdfzxcv as the bindable keys used in this menu. As far as implementing this feature I have a few ideas. For the sake of space I am going to put it in the spoiler here:

I hope you all think these are good ideas to be implemented. I think they are both useful in their own ways and I feel like they would increase the overall quality of cRPG. I used a lot of information I learned from a software engineering course to help construct this. I figure the first step to getting a feature added is creating a basis from which it could be built on and I think this is it. Anyways, thanks for reading and let me know what you think.

P.S. I plan on using this post continuously for any suggestions I might have so I will most likely continue necroing this post in the future with any new ideas I might have (Sorry in advance  :().
