The two targets you want to shoot for are the engine(fire) and ammo rack(blows up). Ammo rack storage places differ on tanks somewhat and can be hard to target. Engine placement however is quite obvious and almost always at the back. You can find skins on tanks that show different critical area target places but I think that just ruins the game.

See? This is why I love this community.

Thank you very much, I'll have a look and learn from it as much as possible while the game is downloading.

Hope this will improve my gameplay experience.

Well, the idea is to shoot at surfaces that are flat, so your shots hit as perpendicularly as possible. Then it also helps to know the general idea of specific tanks - such as, don't bother shooting at the turret of a T29 from the front :D

From closer range, if you can take the shot, use first person and aim for things such as viewports or whatever else is anything other than just bare armor. Many tanks also have at least a partially exposed underside on the front, that you can try to shoot through, since it is generally less armored.

Also, remember that your aiming reticule changes colour, depicting how likely you are to penetrate something - it only doesnt take the angle in account.

Basically, dont shoot at the turret of any  higher tier american tank, same for most of the russians, specially IS 3 and up. German tanks often have weak spots on this thing on the turret, not sure how to call that, there where usually MG's are mounted.

I've soon got enough EP to get the 1200PS engine or the 10,5cm for my E-50, not sure yet what I should take first.

I preferred the VK3001P, because of speed (and it also looks kewler). Don't look forward to the Tiger, it'll take you a ton of grind to get it to a decent state.
Don't know about the Tiger, but the Tiger P can use the same 88mm cannon at stock, which is rather shitty for tier7 (132 penetration, gg), with the upgraded 88mm cannon being a fuckload of grind away (needs expensive transmission, expensive turret and the gun itself is uber costly in XP)

Other tier7 heavies have it way easier at start.

Ive played vk3001p, i played it at the time that the panter was in a different tree but then the patch screwed me over, had to restart with pz3/4 and vk3001h to get the panter.

I just want the tiger because of its iconic status, i know its a shitty shoe box compared to the IS, but still.

I had a KV3, loved it untill they put it one slot upwards, after that i sold it.

Are german tanks still underpowered useless piece of ... ?

I remember getting PZIV and it was so useless, but KV-1 of the same tier could out-derp even higher tiers.

Not sure what tree to go now with all this stuff added.

Depends on with which Panzer IV you played, the old one with the strong cannon or the newer one. Theres that difference though, Panzer IV is a medium tank, KV a heavy tank, so the PzIV isnt really supposed to fight against a KV alone.

lolwut pz4 used to be one of the best tanks with the l70.
They have nerfed the KV now, they have split it into KV1 and KV2 so no more derping around with KV1.

Up to you what tree you choose. I know Stug 3 is excellent tank, so is the vk3601h and the panther isnt that bad as well.
Or you can always try the new british line.

PzIV, back in the day, was an uber good medium tank, with a super precise, high penetration cannon. KV-1 was ridiculously good against higher tiers as well. Both have been changed a lot since then.

I feel that the trees are generally well balanced right now, all are viable. Maybe with the exception of french low tier tanks being utter suckage.

Ooh, good news, good news.

I might try the german line again, with some russia here and there. Who knows.
