Hello. First of all, please apologize for my mistakes, I don't speak english very well.

I got ban today for teamkilling Viscount_Ortiga, in the EU2 server : http://forum.melee.org/eu-%28official%29/teamkilling-57004/msg922372/

I admit it, I kicked and TK Viscount_Ortiga but not for no reason. This player was actually doing nothing to help the team ; he was just standing next to me and constantly switching his weapon very fast to make a lot of noise.
So I kicked him one or twice to make him stop. He didn't. So I shoot him in the head.
After that, he stopped to troll me, but I still can hear him making this noise for some other rounds.
I have a witness : Mao_Liwei, and probably all the players in the server who can hear him.

I agree, my reaction was childish and not appropriate. But I always played cRPG peacefully and followed the rules (this is actually my first ban and warning), so I tought a ban is a bit severe. I agree with a warning though.
I also agree that I miss proofs, and I can understand if I still get banned because of this.

Thank you for reading me.

The one in the osprey book could be metal splints embedded in the padding. The miniature is just a miniature.

I know my sources are not perfect, but it's the only one I can find. There must be others, but I have not the time to make intensives reaserches.

There is another picture in this Opsrey book which shows a mercenary wearing "an early form of scaled-linen, canvas-covered jacque" over mail (I can't find any picture of it, and I don't know if I can scan it, beacause of copyright). It definitely don't look like a brigandine or something like this ; it's clearly light and without metal.
"Jacque" is a french word for "gambeson/aketon/padded jacket".

In another Opsrey book (Henry V and the conquest of France : http://books.google.fr/books?id=niJRz9EhwxoC&printsec=frontcover&hl=fr#v=onepage&q&f=false), I find a another picture of a soldier wearing a kind of padded jacque over mail. The author says : "he wears a loose garment which may simply serve to protect the armour from the weather". I can't show you the picture, so you'll have to believe me, but the "loose garment" looks exactly like the aketon (if it's an aketon) of the first picture of Tovi (except it's blue).

The utilization makes sense to me : a mail is quite expensive and it must be quite hard to maintain without rust during a campaign. It's seems useless in combat, but it must be a good protection against the rain.

I'm sorry if I made some mistakes, or if I'm not very clear, my english is not very good.

I agree the aketon over mail looks strange. But we can find pictures of it, like in the Osprey's books :
http://books.google.fr/books?id=gXeyZicujL0C&printsec=frontcover&hl=fr&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false

I also find a painting of the 15th century, with a padded jack over mail. So, maybe it's historical.

A vote ban should only last 30 minutes, young padawan.

Yeah, and ?

Let's do the math. We already know that repair cost is 20% of the original, so 1/5. If you have 20k worth of gear, then if everything breaks (which is very unlikely), you lose 4k.
I gain 50 per minute, rounds are 7 minutes each. That means 350 gold for every x1 round. I know these numbers don't differ much from yours, but the final result is far less: that means 12 rounds to finance a full repair, not 20. Those were the numbers I know for sure.

So I should have a problem with my stuff : I pay 941g to repair a Kettle Helmet which cost 2107g. So the repair cost is near 45% of the original...
Other example : I pay around 70g to repair my Leather Gloves (289g) => ~57% of the original.
BUT, the repair cost for my siege crossbow is good (11477 -> 2295).

If my calculations aren't wrong (math+me=3), there's a little problem somewhere.

I do believe someone mentioned 20% of the base cost before.

I don't think so. I paid around 900 golds to repair a kettle helmet which cost 2107g.

I vote "better than before" but I don't really like the repair system : I have to pay 941 golds for a kettle helmet wich cost... 2107golds !

I don't think the idea of a repair system is bad, but at this moment, it's too expensive I think.
