Weapon Proficiency Costs

As of late 2013, with the new WPF system put into place, the information contained within this thread is outdated. As if anybody actually looked at it past 2012.

Wait are you saying that we shouldn't put points onto weapon master until were like level 30 to gain the highest WPP for our characters?

Each level of Weapon Master gives (10*level) + 20 WPP.
Each character level gives 5 + (level/5) WPP, rounded down.

lvl of char or WM?

I clarified the original post so that people wouldn't get confused over the WPP gained from WM and leveling.

Now could you also find out how usefull wfp is for accurecy or damage

You can probably substitute Melee Weapon Damage for ranged weapons in Vargas' webtool:
http://infinitum.dyndns.org/crpg/calc.htm

It might not be 100% accurate for ranged weapons, but it's a good estimation.
You can test accuracy yourself in Single Player; just make sure you have the exact PD that the bow requires so you don't get false accuracy readings.

OK, it seems like I just can't decide. I need your guys advice. I wanted to start specialization in polearm after lvl31 where I would get another WPP bonus. In that case, I would have to invest all skill points to riding, to get at least a destrier or courser. I just wanted to ride a horse a little bit. Is it worth it, or should I still invest all in two handed weapons, and wait after the retirement for new specialization? I understand that two handed weapons don't work well when used on horse?

I'd put the points in Polearms and try out riding horses if you're just going to retire anyway. This way you can see if you like it or not and plan for the next generation.

I understand that two handed weapons don't work well when used on horse?

This isn't neccesarily true. Two-handed weapons are more suited to bumpslashing than Polearms are, unless you use an extremely short Polearm. They also don't need as much space to get a clean hit when your horse is stopped.

What's been botherin me for a while now is the big question - is it worth putting all WPF points in one weapon specialization (polearms for my cav guy in my case), considering the ultra high price for 150 +. Getting weapon master 7 gives the opportunity to either max out your main weapon spec., or take a secondary one. Really can't decide. -)

MayPeX, no, the formula for weapon master is :
Each level of Weapon Master gives (10*new Weapon Master level) + 20 WPP
Your char level doesn't matter and doesn't change the amount of weapon proficiency point you gain.

Beside thabt you gain some weapon proficiency point at each level.
