This is ottoman mamluk armorered horse from 1550 I bet with what's in the game u can pretty much make this guy but the helm is cool

I wasn't aware that ottomans kept the warrior slave mamluk caste when they conquered egypt I figured they were good just with the orthodox christians kids taken to be jannissaries as their elite

I have already started to create some Ottoman models. However, I am very lazy, because the mod is very attracting and I cant stop playing. :P

With this helmet, I'm almost done:

And I would not say that there are no similarities between "Turkish" and "Arab" armor. The Ottomans were a multi-ethnic empire, and they were influenced by many ethnic groups. The Janissaries, however, were unique.

yes mamelukes are turkish,this is why they stopped the mongol invasion on middle eastern,they battle steppe tactic was the same like mongols.they were the only ones who could stop the invasion and thus saved the entire north african continent.

I have nothing against fancy armor, but isn't this helmet in particular more of a ceremonial piece? Maybe don't make it quite so gilded.

I say if it's historic, and if it looks cool, and if someone can make it, then it'd be epic to see in cRPG. I'm sure many others feel this way, however armor doesn't make itself :P

Hopefully I can finish the texturing part today. Then tomorrow I can post some pictures.
I should mention that I dont make the same chichack helmet what Janis_Corp posted. This magnificently decorated golden Vezierhelmet was probably not widespread.
But the form is the same, just with an other ornament decoration.

Someone knows how the polearm in this picture is called?  (Left guy with shield and polearm. Turkish version of the "English Bill" or a Klingon weapon? :))

More models tends to affect the game's performance, remember. But do we really need all those dresses and peasant shirts in all those different colours? They could make way for Ottoman stuff.
