Trading an heirloom point

Well, I just found out to my disappointment that I'm most likely going to have to retire again. I guess I might as well make the most of it, so if somebody out there has anything specific they want heirloomed, I may be able to do that for you.

If I get good enough offers, I'll exchange the point for the best one. I'll only accept +1 items if they're accompanied by a very generous amount of gold, but +2 (or even +3 if you really don't care for that item or are willing to accept extra cash with the loom point) are likely to be met with interest. Here are the item types I'm looking for, ranked from the most desired down:

Knightly Kite Shield
Heavy Kite Shield
Elite Cavalry Shield
Throwing Spear
Jarid
Heavy Round Shield
Byrnja
Kuyak (either)

I may also be able to buy some of these items for gold if the price is low enough, but primarily I'm interested in trading the point here. If you think we might be able to make a deal, shoot me a PM. Anyone looking to buy with cash only had better be offering a truly obscene sum. :P

What is an obscene sum? 400k? I think so.

My only use for gold is to buy an heirloom that I want to have. As you can see, it's not a very long list. If I sold for 400k, I would have a bad chance of getting one of my most desired items for much less than that any time soon, so obviously it's not worth it for me. If I don't get good offers, I'll just heirloom my own item. :)

Hey i'll give you 1 dollar, but you have to give me 2 first. Why would anyone trade a +2 item for a +1 one?

Maybe they don't particularly care for their +2 but haven't been able to trade it for anything better. Maybe they really have their heart set on some particular item and this is the only way they can get it. Maybe they want to raise the level of an item they already have without retiring. It's happened before.

You can pose the same question the other way: why would I want to trade away my heirloom point when it can get me any heirloom I want? Answer: if I can get something for it that is even better for me.

If it doesn't go through, it's no big loss for me. Worth a shot anyway. The bigger question here is what compelled you to make that post in the first place.

The market seems crazy right now, i'm trying to figure out motivations so i can buy/sell more efficiently. Thanks for your logic, i've seen a lot of +2 for +1 offers and i've been wondering why anyone would do that since it takes the same amount of time to loom any item. Now i know.

Fair enough. Most offers asking for upgrades, or same-level trades with big cash demands added, are pretty much desperately greedy bullshit. An heirloom point is a little bit different, though. It won't be worth it for everyone, but it might be for some; I've already had +2 offers, but I'll give it more time in hopes of getting an item I really want.
