Its come to my attention that some are saying that those who got hacked are doing the hacking through the NA site. Supposedly by looking up alt characters then somehow gaining access through those characters.
There are four things that make this possible:
- You have an alt character without a password allowing others to login and switch to other characters you have.
- You have shared your password for one of your characters with others.
- You have an easy password guessable (like abc123 or 4321).
- Or the database has been breached/a dev(however unlikely) has released a list of all alts.
Some, not all, characters who have been hacked have had password protected alts, and or no alts listed on the
www.nacrpg.net site.
Therefore we feel is is not our responsibility for this event. Regardless the risk in security remains.
I suggest that all players with alts make sure you have a password and do not share that password with anyone. Player and alternate name search will remain up on the
www.nacrpg.net site.
Game On.
