The only thing that felt off to me was that it was abandoned in almost the same state as it was at least half a year before EA. Makes one wonder, if they ever intended to finish it or not. I'm not mad or anything. 50€ is a lot of money for some unfinished abandonware, but that was the risk. I'd just feel a bit retarded financing their next amazing "1 year in poland" experience after this.

CliffyB lost all the money and his game studio is closed. I think he opened the studio after chadz, which shows how hard it is to keep company afloat for more than five years. chadz may not be making exceptionally great games, but he's quite good at managing game studios.

Look I know crpg forums are a huge circle jerk and the fanboyism is stupid (in actual meaning) strong here that people are willing to look past any logic, but:
a) has he actually finished a game yet?
b) what makes you say he's good at managing?

I wish them luck because they're fighting a huge uphill battle given the studio's reputation in western world. If the game is finished, looks decent and interests me I'll give it a go as I would do with any game, however if we're to judge by past achievements it's not much to get excited about.

Unless that was sarcasm in which case you got me Leshman.

He's obviously good enough to convince some people that he is good enough at making games to make a successful enough game.

a) i've played one of his early games, some top down shooter he made with his brother so i'd say there is one finished game he produced lol
b) he's on the clear path to become derek smart level of being good at managing game studios (derek smart is the gold standard, his dev studio is over 20 years old and he never produced a quality game)

It's not sarcasm, I played wonderful games made by studios that last for less time than chadzs studio. I don't know how he does it, but he obviously found da wae to keep his company afloat.

Their studio reputation is mostly intact, less than 100k history nerds who bought the game on Steam are irrelevant among general population of gamers. On every gamer who knows what Of Kings and Men is, comes at least 500 who never heard of it.

It's not a circlejerk just an honest observation, have to give man props for being good at something. Have zero interest in their game, actually any video game at this point.

You might be surprised at the damage that has already been done to their company. If they ever release anything else on Steam a lot of people will come out of the woodworks dredging up the past. Just look at the comments on the Steam page for OkAM. The Donkey Crew made a lot of promises then disappeared without a single explanation. The internet doesn't forget stuff like that. I don't think gaming journalists or anyone really will give them the benefit of the doubt again (except diehard fans here, which I find weird because they still didn't even tell us anything about what happened to okam)

it's still better to show up with your original name and try to make it better than work under a different name. If you use a different company name and people find out it makes them look way shadier. Stand to your mistakes in the past, learn from them and make it better (and don't promise too much, if you got cool mechanics and they work just surprise people with it, keep more stuff hidden )

Comments won't hurt them because nobody reads that crap but negative votes will, especially if goons and rest of crpg community go to greater length to downvote their game prior to even trying it (buy, vote, insta refund).

chadz made this community and was made by this community, it is reflection of his in a way and he'll never get rid of it. This community made it possible for him to get into professional game development by intially funding his team but will mostly create troubles for him and his team down the road.

Edit: There was the time and place to change things for the better but chadz refused to remove bad seeds (me included) from crpg because he liked trollish nature of crpg players and these petty trolls will create nothing but difficulties for him.

Based on the amount of time ive enjoyed playing crpg, and all the people i met through it i really dont care whether their new games are successful, failures or scams, i'll support them just based on whats already been given me.

It's not the cRPG community that will create troubles, at least not the current one as it's fucking tiny. You only need a couple of people disappointed by OKAM - and there's no lack of those (not necessarily old crpg players) to let others know what happened with their previous game and it'll blow up on steam forums/reviews, reddit, etc.. and eventually end up in the press as well. There's no way they can keep this hidden. It's a pretty huge failure stamp and people will be reluctant to invest, especially if they're going for early access first again. It's not on the scale of WarZ and Sergey Titov, but it is a red flag regardless.
