and it has been happening the other way around for awhile as well.
captain algren is an american in the story if you watch the last samurai and he's treated like a foreigner (cus he is) and the tale is quite sensible.
cleopatra is 50 years old and i'd say that the film industry has possibly changed over that period of time; one really interesting thing is that if you look at the coinage produced when Rome ruled the Mediterranean, coins were altered to make the ruling figure more culturally alike a certain population; the faces would be made to look egyptian for egypt and roman for rome. pretty interesting stuff.
however, it wouldve been more prudent to post a picture of brad pitt's achilles or gerard butler's leonidas when talking about white people representing greeks. still, you can argue that those actors bring more to the casting process decisions when it comes to the film industry considering famous actors help bring in revenue.
but i think the troubling thing is that it's pretty obvious that these actors were chosen basically to fill a skin color quota. the leftists are willing to alter reality in order to fit their perspective, and this ideology is also invading employers and the government. people are going to (if not already) be chosen based on skin color & gender rather than capability which will ultimately lead to the exclusion of others based on the fact that they're "not the right color." pretty much discrimination rearing it's head in the form of soshul justiss.
u may say "but that's two white dudes playing greeks," but i'd also argue that greeks more closely associate with europeans than africans for pretty simple reasons
can't wait for the remake of the godfather when the corleone family is replaced with asians
