The Charlie Hebdo attack spawned some of the cringiest shit ever. Mainly the french-flag-faces (wtf? fucking weird) on Facebook, and the #JeSuisCharlie hashtag. Almost like someone wanted to test just how easy it would be to get the masses to repeat whatever slogan they're given, no matter what it achieves. Such brave souls, signalling to their friends that they condemn terrorism -- after it became a cool meme to do so.
After applying a Facebook filter and typing a "#JeSuisCharlie :'(" message on Twitter they could go on with their day, satisfied that they Did Their Part. Take that, terrorism. Or something.
