The one thing in this fairly 'meh' trailer that interests me is Luke Skywalker saying 'It's time for the Jedi to end'. Even long before Disney took over and announced a new trilogy I was nerd enough to have my own theories about what happened after Return of the Jedi, and always assumed that Luke 'brought balance to the force' by teaching the force in balance rather than just pure Dark Side or pure Light Side.
Instead of SW being the same old good vs bad, jedi vs sith story, it'd definitely be a nice way to shake things up by declaring that BOTH points of view are wrong, and the "correct" path would be one down the middle. The director recently clarified that the Jedi in the title was a singular person, so it really only makes sense that the last jedi is luke, and he's going to start training rey to be a mere force user, neither jedi nor sith. It'd be cool to have a protagonist who can utilize all their emotions/force powers when fighting. Can't wait to see Rey shooting bolts of lightning at the baddies, while still remaining sane and not getting all yellow/red-eyed. That said, it'd be almost hilarious if that is just some throwaway line taken completely out of context to generate discussions such as this.
"When Kylo Ren killed off all my padawans, you know what he said? *Pauses for dramatic effect, trailer snippet starts here* 'It's time for the Jedi to end.'" - Luke
