Thank and god bless, White Race is saved once again for a moment longer and the Darkness pushed back another inch...

Guess you could call him...

  :) -> 8-)

 ...the tolkien black guy.

I'll see myself out.
He'll probably die first anyways 😀

I stomached my way through the first game, but all I see is upscaling of the levels of cancer. As if the first game wasn't a big enough steaming dump on tolkien, I dont get how even casual lotr fans can stand the story being rewritten like a rebooted anime series. which is just even harder to stand considering the cease and desist orders that super faithful mods have gotten to "protect the IP". I blame the hobbit films.

It looks pretty fun. I remember really enjoying the series of LOTR games released on the ps2. Forget what they were called.

Yes I just looked it up and those were the ones! Didn't realize they were movie tie ins. Really fun games single player and coop.

Return of the King was the only game of those 3 movie games worth getting though due to being the only one having co-op, I have all the games but that's the one me and my brother spent WAY too much time playing, actually re-played the whole game co-op a few months ago. It also has very good bonus levels that's basically wave defense / tower climbing with enemies etc.

Back when movie games were usually pretty decent, like that Narnia game, it was basically reskin of the LOTR games. James Bond games were also good, mostly.

Same, played it again the other month and as an epic troll move when we got to the Black Gate level I chose lvl1 Gimli as my character. It was a struggle...

Star Wars episode 3 game was great too.

And Bond games are still the only PS2 games I'm aware of that ever made use of the PS2 multi-tap that allowed 4 player coach multiplayer, that was great. Agent under Fire had really fun multiplayer, and Nightfire is a classic - that sweet 1-shot Oddjob hat. The campaign for Nightfire was hard tho, too many beautiful civilians to kill and fail your mission over...

Agent under fire definitely allowed for less competitive fun times back in the day, while nightfire was all down to business. Low gravity + grappling hooks + town level with the church = all out mayhem where everyone is fighting over the photon canon that spawns in the sewer/canal. The best things about nightfire were definitely oddjobs hat and being able to sneak across the gondola wire on that one map to capture the enemy's flag. Was able to pull this off multiple times in one game and the peasants who weren't in the know were so confused as they were watching "all the entrances" and never once saw me.

The other map/gametype that was great was 'Protect the VIP' where an NPC gets off a train and fucks around for a while before getting on another train, that was difficult because the VIP was too fun to kill even when it was your turn to guard him.

Literally think that my friend and I just always teamed up (despite being on opposing teams) to try and kill the VIP in the funniest way possible every single time. And yep, the grappling hooks in that game were too fun. In nightfire you could only use them on certain hooks hanging from ceilings/walls in convenient places... totally lame and not worth using.

Shit game for spastics was shit, I expect this one to be just as bad. Boring and easy, impossible to die, moronic AI, button smashing as a replacement for tactics, the "story" is best left of unspoken. Typical console fare.
