If something like strategus is implemented there is a huge crowd even outside of this community looking for a game with meaningful progression that has more than a mindless grind, they want things such a sieges, player controlled houses, towns and cities with a economy. These combined with these awesome combat mechanics is GG with the right marketing.
Bannerlord will lack any kind of meaningful progression for online play if it's anything like the others. I owned warband for years and am prolly one of the few people who played the crpg mod before native after finding it by accident. After trying crpg I didn't even care to try native anymore because it was meaningless and had no progression, that's not to say the combat wouldn't have been fun but you need more than that to get ppl hooked.
I think if OKM is the standalone crpg with better everything then ppl won't have a problem letting crpg go, i dunno tho.
Games that are guaranteed to fail ( or already failed) or similar enough that OKM can pickup a large playerbase off of:
Shroud of the Avatar
Crowfall
Darkfall
Camelot Unchained
Bannerlol : people will play the single player and want something more when it comes to multiplayer
Mortal Online
Shadowbane
Life is Feudal
Reign of Kings
