Coming back to crpg (maybe)

I have been away from crpg for quite some time and I am thinking about coming back.
What has changed in the last year or so. I see I can respec my characters so I want to know about the changes to know if my old builds will work.

I take it you are referring to my horse archer character.

35 is the new 31 in terms of retirement, so what can be done with a build when done leveling has been made greater (though the meta still seems to be very armor stack oriented, even for high agi builds).

Updating will have be done manually, as Lord Yuang hints at- the launcher is borked currently. There are a few threads floating around about this with fixes and how-tos and such.

It's only non-strat characters can respec every seven days with no XP loss; strat chars can respec whenever but lose XP from doing so. Still, this is probably the most badass change I've noticed coming back. I now have like 5 STFs and it's rad, rad, rad.

The bonus from high level characters is now less significant than it once was due to the higher "final" levels present. Ironflesh (in addition to giving the HP bonus) affects how much prof you lose from armor weight now (more if, less loss; no if, full loss), not sure when that started but it's a nice thing to help balance it and STR in general against WM and AGI.

So I have 2 level 37 characters
What builds are fun now?
I will probably have to do one horse archer because that is my roots.
With all the IF chars around are agi builds still any good?
I had a 12/33 shielder that was pretty fun.
Do you still level up items by retiring?
how does archery work now.
does IF affect archery?

I've played some pretty fun AGI STFS lately. 10/30 Shielder with a +3 Niuweidao hits way harder than it seems like. Pretty sure Larry The Magical Cheetah rolls a 15/27 shielder build, could probably make that 15/30 or 18/27 fleshed out at 37.

Retiring still gives looms, yup.

The main change in archery is they increased missile speed p sure, makes it harder to dodge. Standard archery build for most non-hybrids is 27/21.

Not sure how archers would fare from lacking IF/prof loss. I'd imagine it's not bad since they wear fairly light armor for the most part anyhow.

Personally, the range of builds one can do is great, for me. I've played 15/30 Katana user, and I've played 36/12 light armor wearing polearm- the 4 ath is actually pretty damn good in light armor, since most melee users are wearing near-plate gear.

I've found Horse Archers to be pretty weak, but if you do want to go HA, you want a STR oriented build, otherwise you won't do much damage. I played HA with a courser and some med-heavy armour and it worked out quite well (Obviously not for very long because I despise the class) but wanted to at least give every class in the game a go.

At least you're not a HX, otherwise I'd have to give you bad news :x
