Best movie of 2015 by far. Pulls no punches, no Hollywood cop outs, avoids the usual clichés in regards to action scenes and female protagonists. 13/10.

Wha...

I wasn't a fan actually.

Best movie 2015 was The Martian. At least of the films I can remember.

Maybe The Gift...

I was rather disappointed. Kept waiting for something to happen that made it so great as critics claim. Cinematography was top notch and Benicio was superb, I love that guy. But other than that I felt there was something missing plot-wise or something interesting happening to Blunt. Maybe it was also a bit of a case of too high expectations.

Best movie 2015 for me was definitely Birdman.

Sounds like it was a case of "expecting Hollywood cliches." It would've been gay if there was some megatwist with Blunt. The way they told the story, showing the audience more and more as Blunt's character gets glued in to what's really happening, was great. The plot was good -- the opposite of a 007 plot, yes, but that was the beauty of it. It has real world relevance, and it asks a question and makes a statement at the same time.

To me it seemed like it had one of those bland plots so I didn't bother watching it.

I guess, if you like action movies you might find it enjoyable.

You guess, even though you didn't watch it? If you had watched it, you'd know what a silly thing you just said. It's far from an action movie. If you go watch it waiting for an action move, that's when you'll be bored. Though the action in it is good.

"An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico."

Just from reading that, to ME it doesn't seem like an engaging plot. That doesn't mean it's a bad movie but it doesn't interest me in the least bit.

So because you don't find something interesting (based on a one sentence plot teaser) people might find it enjoyable if they like action movies? That doesn't make any sense.

I'm actually not the only one in this thread that didn't seem to see what's so special in this movie over the other thousand crime/drama/action ones. But feel free on replying to anyone disagreeing with your opinion.

The Revenant was supposed to release in 2015 but full release was pushed to January 2016. It did however have a limited release on December 25th so I am casting my vote for it.
