It's probably great at first, but when you get further into it than scratching the surface all of its major flaws and dumbed down features probably shine through. The fact alone that everyone can carry a sniper rifle already put me off the game lol.
This. First post was made after like 1 hour or less of gameplay, while my excitement to be playing battlefront 2 sequel was in full swing.
After about 3 hours in you start to get a grasp on the game, what there is to unlock, the maps themselves, and all the flaws.
11 main weapons to unlock in the entire game. a few pistols, blaster rifles with different fire rates range and dmg, and a single shotgun.
There are accessories and items but they are pretty bland as well and Overpowered... Grenades are unlimited and on a short cooldown, so they are spammed nonstop... The sniper rifle (i forget what it's called) is completely OP, One shot kills w/ body shots on an 18second cooldown... where your normal main rifles take like anywhere from 5-10 hits to kill.
No unique classes like battlefront 2.
Only two races... unlike battlefront 2.
No single player campaign. only like bot matches in really bad game modes with nothing interesting going on.
No galactic conquest.
Only a few good game modes. (walker assault 20vs20, a kind of push/tug of war style capture the objectives map 20vs20, and team death match 12vs12 or something like that.
Only auto-matchmaking, no server lists.
No voice chat.
No ping displayed.
A couple of the maps are very very unbalanced, giving the high ground advantage to one team and making it even more unbalanced by placing these very OP heavy turrets on the high ground... Played a match on that map and a guy went 47 - 0 just by sitting in the turret on the high ground cliff and blasting all the enemies trying to progress up to high ground. Team on the low ground is vulnerable, team on the high ground can peak out from the cliff ledge and shoot at pretty much any enemy on the map and then duck back behind the cliff ledge whenever they want.
The game got two things right... The graphics and the sound FX.
Everything else is terrible imo.
Also I was getting like 2/1 k/d ratio on average... It wasn't like I didn't like the game because I was bad at it... and it also ran great on my system. Had no problems with fps drops or anything in the 40 player matches.
If you want to try the game I suggest you get it for PC... Just make sure you are in the window to get a refund on Origin (I think they say 24 hours from purchase, but I was like 36 hours from purchase and they still gave me the refund.) You will most likely want the refund by the 5 game time hour mark, unless you like really really really like starwars or something and you can look past the gameplay and just enjoy graphics, sound fx, and nostalgia.
