Yes. Even just moving stuff around on the desktop, there is a massive difference in smoothness.

Actually this is in many cases *more* obvious than playing a game.

As for the size of the monitor, mine is 27" and it already feels too large at times. I would prefer more detail to be honest. Of course it depends on how far you want to sit from your monitor and how much of your vision you want to be covered by it.

Yeah I like 27'' I think it is a good size for how far I sit from monitor (about 2 &1/2ft from eyeballs to screen)
32 inch would just be overkill and would cause me to have to look upwards to see the center of the screen... or boost my chair up and set my keyboard/mouse on some kind of raised platform to compensate.

I agree 1080 looks fine, its not like the games are over pixelated and stuff... but bumping up to a 2k res monitor in a way validates my urge to spend hundreds on a new monitor...

Still unsure which one I'm gonna get, main worry about 2k is my frames will bog and I'll have to run everything on low.

The 1080 benq is about 140$ cheaper... compared to the 1440
