Do you think that one-handed weapons are too slow given their length and weight compared to other weapons that would be more cumbersome?

Yes, one-handed weapons need a speed boost to compensate for their short range.
No, I think one-handed weapons are too fast already.
No (it's all perfectly balanced)
I don't know, I just want a bagel.

Are one-handed weapons not fast enough? (comparative)

I feel that one-handed weapons are at a disadvantage, especially those that cannot block.

Several daggers have a high rate of speed, but it seems to have very little effect (negligible?), and their arming and recovery are too slow for how light of a weapon they are.
Two-handed weapons can recover and rearm just as quickly and that seems sort of silly to me. Try waving a bat in real life as fast as you can wave your arm. If you can manage to do that you get +10 master-fap points.

Hey look! A new player complaining about 1h speed and making a reference to a baseball bat! We've never seen THAT before!

1h speed is fine.

Play a character without a shield, then go one on one with Matey. If you make it through his shield with a sword, (takes about 25 hits), then you can come and make a thread.

I've played with Matey, I generally turn my attention to something more productive than messing with him.

Its obvious a majority of people use all the same type of gear for a reason.

There would be nothing wrong with increasing the attack speed of one handed weapons, at least there would be some variety. 50% if not more of the kills are being done by the same crap. Theres a lot more than 2 weapon types in the game.

I happen to want to play something other than a two-hander spammer flailing around a 7 foot long laser sword and listening to moon music while running around with some female emo character spouting "l2play n00b!" all day while smegma festers on my sack.

They're fast enough. Get your sense of timing and positioning checked. And before you denounce my words, I play a shielder more often than not.

The thrust animation of 1h is the only thing that needs to be remade/faster. It should be slightly less slower than the 1h thrust attack while mounted.

::sigh::

Most people play 2handers/pole because 1h & shield is BORING. Manual blocking is one of the more fun aspects of the game.

Overall 1 handers are faster than 2 handers/pole.

A really good 1 hander is an unholy death machine who can rack up ridiculous kpd. 1 handers don't need to be faster. 1h & shield is easy enough as it is.

Speaking of Matey... every time, I try to kick him.  Every time!  The same thing happens, he's apparently completely adept at swingin' that little Italian sword of his at the perfect range away from me instead of rubbing up against me like every other one hander.

Or am I thinking of Midnighter... I get those two characters confused.

onehanders are beastly. They are already faster than 2h & pole, they just feel slower at first to people who mistake the less length as being slower since they never get the first attack.

I don't know if you have ever seen ManOfWar or Cyranule as a 1hander... That is terrifying. I for one am glad Cyranule has been playing a 2hander, he is easier to take down now.
if you think onehanders are slow, watch ManOfWar, Balbaroth, Dan_ATS, Cyranule (when he is 1h), Midnighter, Matey, etc. [If you are NA]. Try fighting them with a 2hander/Pole.

I think you'll see that it is just your timing that is off, or your footwork letting people circle you a bit.

Speaking of Cyranule, I can beat him in a duel when he is 2hander maybe one out of 15 duels. When he is a onehander? It is a fluke if I win. It doesn't happen.

Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower
Formerly known as Marathon.
As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.
