cRPG going commercial?

You heard it here first

After Bethsoft, Paradox is showing signs of possible support for paid mods and M:BG needing funds, one things leads to another...

Zero work?

If someone truly feels its zero work, then why dont you set up your own market and maintain it? I was one of the original owners of Gamersgate, so I actually have a clue or two about what havinga digital marketplace entails..

Steams cut on sales on its market is FAR less than any distributor took before they entered the market. And for those that say 25% to the developer is low is entirely new to how gamedevelopment works. Thats far higher percentage of gross price than we ever saw when we were pure developers, and then we actually owned the brands we developed on.

Where I come from its such a great deal, that if i hadnt been in my current position, i'd have jumped on it immediately if it had bern a game I liked to mod..

OTOH, i'm not adressing other concerns about support, legal aspects, impact on scale of modfing etc, as I dont think ayone knows how it would work out...

Don't consider me negative but in current state cRPG has to pay you to play it, not the otherwise.

We all know that will not ever happen. Why do you guys have to take every opportunity to poke fun at the Donkey Lords? Let them work without having to worry about forum rants. This is supposed to be where they get the best support possible. Turns out it is just the opposite in reality.

One's life must be really boring and dull when you have to waste time with these sort of comments.

Mine is. Takes one to know one.

Even if Donkeys don't want to ask money for their mod, if Paradox really enables paid mod support for Warband, there are interesting stuff to discuss. For example, what if some mod creator wants to sell his mod but his mod uses cmp's WSE?
