That was mean :(

Edit: But I also use the opportunity to insult those kids in various languages, to make fun of them, never consider being part of clan because I know everybody in there is 16, stuff like that. I ain't Merc_Phazh, that old fucker who was teaching Merc kiddies the best ways of smoking pot

I would totally do this bitch! Srsly guys, if she is not banging one of them neckbeards who is in charge of that event, she'd be spinning on my magic wand in no time. I'd probably be able to convince her to do some alchemy ingredients with me. Me thinking mdma would do the trick.

That gives me an idea! Gather a few fun-loving friends, take some shrooms, coco and meth - and while nerds are roleplaying Harry Potter and stuff, we would hit on the ladies while being shit-faced high :) That would be a blast! Hilarity guaranteed! My only concern is it's being in Poland... They might call cops, and who knows how this would end, hmmm. On the other hand - it seems to be far away from civilization, that would give time to sober up and dump the stuff, if nerds would raise a rebellion against us. Not even sure if I'm joking tbh... It does seem to be a very fun idea at this very moment.

No, but seriously though, I think that I may literally never have heard of anything as awkward as this College of Wizardry thing. I mean, the Indiegogo page is one thing, but I want you to imagine what it'll actually be like. Hundreds of extremely socially awkward nerds, all pretending to be wizards and witches and... just... I can't even process it.

Oh yes, one of their backer things is being Headmaster. Pay 3000, you are headmaster. So they have the most awkward nerd of them all as their headmaster, who spent money to be in charge of something for once in their life.

What are you, 43?

How do you know they'll be any more socially awkward than a car meet or a baseball game?

Most forms of entertainment are also a form of escapism. Is this bad?

What makes one different from another? Popularity? Is popularity a standard you seek for your entertainment?

In order:

No.

Because I know LARPers and I know what kind of a crowd it attracts, and what kind of people it doesn't attract.

Escapism by itself isn't bad, no.

I don't think it's possible to have a serious discussion about why nerds dressing up as Harry Potter wizards and pretending to be them, and then talking to each other as if they were a wizard is extremely awkward, and as a result attracts only a very awkward crowd, making it into a vicious circle of awkwardness. It's either obvious to you or, apparently, it isn't.

Okay. I suppose I don't see that as representative of LARPers, and that's probably due to overweighting my personal experiences. There is a possibility you are doing the same.
