As the current state of cRPG might not offer the manpower enough to make a Nations Cup, we shall all vote so you could decide the next Tournament.

Nations Cup = We play nations vs. nations. Some regions will be merged as most countries lack players.

International = You are free to pick your players no matter country/clan etc.

The poll will run for a few days.

The "only" problem is, that player base isn't spread homogenely around the world. Ex : you got a shit load of German/polish/russian speaking people, while you get almost no French, Dutch, and Italian people. Of course, you'll be able to find 5 guys, but they won't match with teams from bigger player bases. Look at the German team for example, try to make a team with the current british players to beat this one, it will be almost impossible. Instead of taking cultural ressemblances between countries, try to draw a comparison between countries and their relative player bases, and allow alliances between small countries, and not between the bigger ones to avoid some kind of Russia + Germany.

Well, the concept of a Nation cup with mixing countries that aren't close in a cultural way isn't a nation cup, Bagge was right on this one. An international tournament with mixed countries (or not) appears to be the best solution.

Welp, it looks like we'll have another cRPG 5v5 Tournament (open for both EU/NA).

Rules will change slightly.

* No more infantry cap.
* New match/map rules.

I've been thinking about some new rules that is quite important. READ and discuss, please.

Instead of weekly deadlines and team captains organizing matches themselves, there will be 2 set game days per week with a fixed schedule.

Wednesday: 18-22
Sunday: 18-22

That leaves 4 matches per game day, 8 matches per week. That will also mean the tournament could possibly end in 4 weeks, instead of 8+. And we will not have another tournament in the middle of the Summer.

Stand ins/Team size:

The team sizes will be 5-7 players per team. That is 1 less than last time, but instead you will have a chance to use stand ins/mercenaries. Now stands in can only be used if they are not a member of another team in the tournament. Players who participated in any form in the tournament before are not allowed to stand in. There's a maximum of 2 stand ins per game.

These fixed dates will always ensure that an admin will be present as well.

As fun as it is getting all nationalistic and stuff, international is probably better for forming teams with the slightly lacking playerbase.

I'm not really a fan of the mercenaries rule. It just seems like it's defeating the purpose of having teams, in a way. Like i wouldn't really feel like it was great if i had to fight you every single time, because everyone just took you in as a mercenaries, because you got eliminated early on.

I know that it will make sure that people get to play a little more, but it just doesn't feel like it's a true team effort, if you win because you bring in a lot of good players when you need em.

Nobody who already took part in the tournament can stand in.
We could discuss if a stand in is allowed to help out more than just one team. Even a tiny addition to the rule like "Stand ins can only help out 2 different teams over the course of the tournament" would completely fix all issues with that too.

So if a team gets eliminated from the tournament, then its members can enter the tournament as mercenaries for the other teams, as far as i understand.

the goal is just to make a tournament so ... make it easy !!
