About 1 year ago and before that i was heavily into lifting (in particular free weights). Then i kinda fell out of it and now during recent time i'm pretty much just doing hardcore cardio. Mixture of HIIT and LISS. Some basic lifting with compound exercises as well though. Nothing super serious when it comes to lifting.

IN addition, thinking of starting MMA but not yet decided.

In college I worked out every other day, but after that my routine kinda fell apart. I didn't have free gym membership (always used campus weight room), was working upwards of 12 hours a day at times, and then I had a kid. FUCK

Anyway I got all signed up for a gym and bought myself some whey protein and its good times. Just got home, I feel amazing. Let's all talk about how going to the gym is cool.

What's y'alls routine? Free weights? Machines? Cardio? I did a little bit of everything but will probably turn my 3 gym days a week into arms/torso/leg day cuz that's what I used to do.

What fitness food do you all eat? I'm stocked up on canned sardines (way less mercury than tuna, and crunchy bones mmm), hella romaine lettuce, and some raw almonds. Made a shake w/ 2 eggs, scoop of vanilla whey, and water. Got one chillin in the fridge for work tomorrow with instant coffee in the mix too. Good shit.

I bascially eat wholegrain bread, apples, bananas, dark chocolate, low fat curd cheese (wtf is this word, in german its magerquark :D )
pasta, rice, cereals and drink alot of milk (the one with 1,5% fat).
But I also eat some convenience food like pizza, fries and so on, I only watch that I only eat dirty like 2, maybe 3 times a week at most, all the other days are pretty clean. I just can't go full 100% bodybuilder when coming to food, I have to drink my morning coffee with sugar, and also eat some sweets from time to time. I think thats ok, eat whatever makes you feel good.

Ah yeah and atm I am doing 3-4 times lifting and 1 time cardio per week, while having a slightly negative energy balance (already lost about 2 kg of fat in 6 weeks, I'm doing it very slowly to not lose muscles, ofc)  :P

Played soccer as a kid. I quit that after 'bout 7 years. Wasn't very popular there and it just felt like hell.
Had some anxiety since 2 years ago. Got real skinny. Like unhealthy skinny. Couldn't eat much, then I started a raw vegan diet. Felt great for awhile, but then the anxiety came back. No exercise. Less food cause less hungry, got even slimer. I am almost 2 meters tall so I didn't even know I could go on with that little food. By then I was eating shit. Pizza, chips and the like.
Recently started some simple bodyweight exercises. When I was still eating fruit and stuff and the anxiety came back I started eating less and that was a bad idea. You have to eat alot on that diet. Apparently lost some cartilage through that phase, but I didn't realise it until I started running. I hurt my knees and that meant even less exercise. Now doing okay trying to regain my strength that I lost through utter inactivity and general laziness. Aspiring to become someone like this, atleast physically.

low fat curd cheese (wtf is this word, in german its magerquark :D )

Wikipedia says you guys differentiate quark and cottage cheese (texture is different?) but in America we just have cottage cheese. You could probably find quark in a store that has ~artisan dairy products~ like skyr and kefir etc. but every grocery store in the country has cottage cheese. It's good for you but I can't stand the texture or flavor. I hate it. My digestive system is not a big fan of dairy so it's probably for the best.

For a treat I like those 85% cacao dark chocolate bars Lindt makes. I've tried other brands but they are always chalky and taste like you are eating straight up cacao powder (I like straight up cacao powder in my shakes). The Lindt ones still melt into creamy chocolate on your tongue.

I am almost 2 meters tall so I didn't even know I could go on with that little food.

I'm 6'2" (2 meters is 6'5") and it sucks trying to gain healthy weight when you are that tall. I have never been able to "bulk" because it makes me sick trying to eat that many good calories in one day. Getting a dog is good motivation to go outside and do stuff. It's also more fun than strict exercise. And you will get all the girls when you go to the park. They can't resist a cute dog.  :P

I'm in the tall-boys club as well. At 6'4 it and a narrow frame it really is more work than the workouts to consume so many calories, especially when I've attempted it in the past and it basically puts me into a food comatose.
And how!
