Yea, a community college is a two year school like itt but it will be registered with certain institutions that maintain accreditation and get state funding. besides that it's usually really cheap and if your poor through grants and student aid you can typically go for free (no loans), and if you later choose to go to a 4 year, they do a pretty good job at preparing you for it, and sometimes offer you special deals if you attend state schools (which is what I did.) ITT and other for profits based schools usually don't have standards that aren't some creation of a private entity for no other purpose then certifying those types of "schools" their only interest is in making money. Non-for-profits usually at least have a few other goals and they are usually academic based ones.
