the "play the whole campaign" mode in Borderlands 2
as in Left 4 Dead 2

and the coop missions in Splinter Cell:Conviction (Blacklist was also great, but Conviction really gave you and your buddy the badass-feeling)

Bunch of smaller coops on steam workshop, just check ratings. As for more large scale multiplayer I recommend Invade&Annex.
