Always liked SRPGs for some reason even though I avoid most other Japanese games.  Grew up on Super Robot Wars, etc

It's not RTS at all, there's actually some elements of strategy in it.

I guess I should at least try seeing some gameplay videos as soon as I find the time. I keep visiting this thread at such inappropriate times that all I can do is drop a comment and leave.

Anyway, Sega has delivered a proper authentic game to the PC platform after such a long while. My most favorite gaming system brand (former) of all times surely deserves a chance.

Could you somewhat call it a "ww2 based" Fire Emblem?

Cause I liked Fire Emblem.
And I always restarted a mission before I let somebody of my team die (because in FE your units will be dead for the rest of the game, which made me play through some missions 10 to 20 times so I won´t loose my precious characters )

I cant really say, as I have not played fire emblem. Imagine gameplay of worms with enemies firing as you move, and combine that with anime-themed story of WW2. That is roughtly what valkyria chronicles is.

On the topic regarding japanese voices: it is hard to determine quality of voices in language you know next to nothing. I dont want to offend anyone, but honestly, how well do those who watch subbed anime/play subbed games know the language? And the VA is pretty good in my opinion. Much better than Metal Gear: revenguanghnce, or The last remnant (TLR is not THAT bad, but much worse than this IMO).

I honestly find myself grabbing my ears much more times over subbed animes, than over the one with english dubs. But that is my preference, And I do not intent to press it on anyone.

I added up a video for gameplay and story evaluation that you can check out, provided you have the time to do so.

EDIT: sorry for double post
