Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not the type of person who fits into what I'm about to say anyway, but I have found myself to be the minority. There are certainly players who enjoy crpg for what it is (not the grind/levels/looms). I would consider myself among that group but any conversation I have had with others on this topic, even among those who I'd normally think would be most likely to agree with me, I have found myself to be in the minority. For a large number of players, the "grind" is what keeps them playing and one thing that is for sure, is that instant gratification is never an option that leads to sustainability.
Allowing such easy access to heirloom respecs completely removes that grind and thus, removes a major factor that keeps a large number of players on the servers. Even if you don't want to retire your main, you can still retire an alt and experience a much faster and easier leveling process. What before would only get you to level 21, will now get you to level 31. Low levels will pass by in a breeze. With that in mind, it's very hard for me to think that these loom respecs will be better for crpg's health in the long run. To the people that enjoy cRPG for what it is (not looms or levels), what's most important to keep them around, is to have people on the servers(thus they need those grinders).
Feel free to explain to me where and how I am wrong. If I am wrong, then I won't have to continue opposing this idea, so please explain how, for sustainability, this will be helpful.
