Any word on these fixes that are needed:

Nudge - phase into and hit people before a block can come up - making nudge broken and too easy? (nudge probably needs a general look at as it was a poorly though-out mechanic that is now heavily abused because of that)

Instastab on 1hers and hoplite/polearm builds faster than 2h stabs and any swings by 2x because of broken animations and hitting at the very first stage of the stab?

Some more I just can't think of right now - any other suggestions?

Indeed, agi thrower used to = strength thrower in damage a long time ago. The current difference between 6-10 stems from 6 PD getting much more wpf, though the damage difference is still larger than the damage difference between 6 and 10 PS. Now, archers leaning strength will have ample amounts of wpf. There will be 10PS, 155 wpf and 8PS, 184 wpf builds now instead of 120 and 155 respectively, and strength will have more favorable wpf penalties vs armor with ironflesh. I think you're underestimating the effects from these builds being the norm vs. the exception when survivability is only going to marginally increase.

The calc at http://tinyurl.com/crpgcalc can tell you how much damage builds will have. It's been updated for the new patch for builds and stuff with some parts subject to change.

oki thx for info i will try that

btw i start to think it's gonna be the come back of str archers and people gonna cry more... just suposition...
my first respec gonna be a full str archer and focus on the bitches who -1 me =p
im gonna make them regret the agi archer build !!

imo actual nudge cooldown is too short and should be back like it was before !

Fix the phase through on neutral nudge leading to a free hit.  If you can't fix the phase through, then increase the delay before you can attack.

6)Level system- less grinding sounds very, very good but the new system will bring us just some seriously deadly builds: range/2h, 30/18 2h 10ps killers and more and more:)
What's the problem, since everyone else would have a deadly build as well?

7)Stf chars on 35lvl- idiot who came with this idea should get perma ban from crpg and i think i dont need to write why
Why, actually?

What does the grandfathering of old titles that you have mean? Other than that I'm very much looking forward to this patch and it has to come by halloween (october 31st) since strat reset is in november unless both are done at same time

This is amaaaaazing.  I've been saying to do these almost exact same things for years now.  I guess it took the game legitimately starting to die for them to do something about it.  Now all we need is for them to round out those good motf changes and we'll have ourselves a mod!

I've already got a ton of real life friends who are going to come play again if this ends up being as amazing and unrestrictive as it sounds.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

In order to bring joy to new as well as old players we've been hard at work on a new patch. Although it might not seem like it, we've been enjoying Warband and cRPG for over four years now. Naturally, we've experienced both great highs and lows in this time. Recognizing that more than mere item tweaks are necessary to keep cRPG healthy we have focused heavily on sustainability.

We are still fine-tuning a few things and there might be some changes here and there. Once the patch has settled in we need your help to spread the word so it can live up to it's internal working title - "Revival".

1. Levels & XP

The required XP to level up will be considerably lowered. Less grind for new players, more options for old ones. You will keep your current XP and your level is adapted accordingly. If you have a retirement title it will be grandfathered. Every character gets a free respec without penalty.

(click to show/hide)

2. Items and game mechanics

The arrival of new members to our team has allowed us to compose a long list of feature updates, balance improvements, implementation of some 40+ new items and roughly 30 mesh and texture improvements. All marketplace offers will be removed when the patch arrives.
  • Aggressively improved balance of mounted ranged mechanics.
  • Improved horse balance to better reflect the survivability–offensive capabilities trade-off.
  • Several tweaks to the wpf and weight penalties have been made to better establish balance between Strength and Agility builds.
  • Reduced damage values for bows and throwing weapons to maintain current effectiveness with increased levels.
  • Raised difficulties for weapons at risk of being abused with large stacks of Agility and Weapon Master. More improvements can be expected on this subject in the future.
  • Adjusted frames in the polearm overhead and right-to-left swing animations to minimize "insta-hitting."

3. Respec

The respec will become a lot less restrictive, allowing players to change their builds more often.
  • Penalty lowered to 20%.
  • A free respec without penalty once every 7 days (subject to change).
  • The free respec cannot be used on your current strategus hero.

4. New players

One goal was to make it easier for new players to catch up to us oldies. They should not have to become no-life-grinders to kick our +3 asses.
  • The first character of a new player will receive a "starter kit" (exact content TBD).
  • New characters will now generally start at level 25.
  • On retirement you will still start at level 1, but your peasant life will be drastically shorter.

5. STF

The level for STF will be increased to 35 and they will not come with 10k gold anymore. This allows us to lift the various restrictions we had to put in place for them to avoid abuses.

6. Auctions

The "Training Lesson" auction will show up more frequently and it can still be used to respec any character without penalty (e.g., your current strategus hero). The "Blacksmith Services" auction will be replaced by an immediate action you can execute anytime on one of your masterwork items, giving you 2 LP.

7. When

Very soon.

ALL OF MY BABBLING MADNESS HAS HAPPENED! OH GREAT JOY!!!

I'VE BEEN RIGHT THIS HOLE TIME AND HERE! HERE BE PROOF!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe

----

I only have one note/question

Will you still be able to use STF's in strat? If so, why restric the free respec for your strat hero since you will be able to respec the stf willy nilly???

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far
