Doubt people do it for points. If someone looks like a newbie and i'm outnumbered, guess who dies first..any extra player is a distraction in a fight, its better to get them dead fast so you can deal with the harder opponents
Might not seem fair but its a logical way to play if you want to win the round
High level characters are too powerful though, Could do what Tydeus said and remove stat increases after level 30. Or something else that makes mid 20's nearly as good as 32+
A lot of players play by points since those can give you valour, not the kills.
As a cavalry player it's very easy to choose your targets. It would remove some of the spawn raping I think.
When I play cavalry I try to be aware of who is who, since killing a better player will increase the chance of winning the round.
Given the current formula it would be something like:
POINTS = POINTS * LEVEL / 30 (rounded up)
