Anyone play this yet? It's getting awful reviews from users, and even the professional reviews are far from glowing.

Also, they have goddamn microtransactions up to 100 dollars in a SINGLE PLAYER GAME? What the serious fuck. Mind=blown. "Pay 50 dollars to buy this sword instead of playing the game you paid for to earn it." What.

I pirated it on PC, it needs patches. I turned it off after like 20 minutes because its horribly unoptimized and bug ridden, even with the brand new AMD beta drivers intended for this and the new Call of Duty. CoD actually runs amazing on my i5 4670k and OC'd 7950, blows the PS4 out of the water. This game somehow is just really fucked up and gets terrible performance and graphics at the moment, but will prob be good after some updates and cracks. Feels like trash compared to say Shadows of Mordor in controls too.

People are crying because their current rigs can't handle the game, you need a decent video card with at least 2GB of memory to play this without issue.  I'm on a GTX 970, having no issues.

As for the micro-transactions, I hate them.  Thankfully none of them are required to play and offer no real benefits whatsoever.

Feels like trash compared to say Shadows of Mordor in controls too.

Thinking the same thing.

Also, Ubisoft has a "review embargo." They only allowed reviews to appear twelve hours after game launch... that, and releasing "Rogue" at the same time, and charging 100 dollars for what PC gamers get for free with a cheat code... well, Ubisoft is officially worse than EA. Ruining great series left and right.

Review embargos aren't new and neither is optional content

Can't really judge the game until I'm done with first playthrough.  I've stopped paying attention to critic and user reviews, would rather play and make up my own mind.

Point out some other post-release review embargos.

So that's a no.

I'll give you one since you're too lazy.  Shadow of Mordor comes to mind.  Allegedly Warner Bros., could content ID claim any review of Shadow of Mordor that went up before the embargo date, even if the reviewer didn't sign the contract or accept the brand deal.  Late reviews, but 8's 9's and 10's all over the place.

Granted, Unity is faring worse, but post release embargoes aren't unique to Ubi.  If anything, the whole controversy seems like selective outrage.

Shadow of Mordor didn't have a post-release review embargo. Try again.

Ubisoft is on the same level as EA. They sold their soul to consol casuality and actually locked one of their game's higher graphical settings so that it wouldn't look better on PC.

Destiny was another one.  I'm not getting where the outrage is.

Pirated Unity, so its no skin off my balls if I end up not liking it

Another one that didn't have a post-release review embargo?

Destiny didn't really have a post-release embargo, it had a release-day embargo, lifting at 7 GMT. Bungie's reason was that since it's basically a MMO game, it couldn't be experienced before there were other people playing it.
