I'm not sure why we use it. What's weird is that our military uses both, like crazies.

Personally the month, day, year triangle pisses me off the most. Why is it like that? Can someone explain?

I think airplanes always use feet, don't they? Not sure...

Wonder why they keep imperial values for length, weight and stuff when they use metric for current, voltage, power and a bunch of other "physics".
Would be easier to generalize to metric overall, I guess.

It's one country, not 50.  Are you trying to say to compare noble prizes won by Californians with those won by Britons?

Technically united states is union of 50 separate states. You can not compare union of 50 separate states to one state or country. That is immensely stupid.

You are on thin ice here debate wise.  Name one country in the world where this has not happened

It could not have happened in every country, otherwise, there would not be any other ones. Try to think for a moment.

And yeah, there would be no Europe as we know it today without Africa, do not forget that.

Your point? Are we europeans priding ourselves as superior to Africans?

(click to show/hide)

This is missing 3 1/2 grams to an eight ball, 7 grams to a sack and 28 grams to an O Z. (street system of measurement) You could also try to translate this into a system of measuring the potential ass whipping if those weights come up missing, but really it varies according to what you are measuring in addition to how much it weighs.

The only way it makes sense to me is because it's the order in which days are sometimes described in English. Like "June the eighth, 2014".

2014/06/08 would make most sense...

I name my files at work this way for proper auto-sort by name and date :D

Actually the standard way to write dates is 2014-06-08, as specified by ISO 8601
