As I don't agree with some of the buffs/nerfs made, you have to take in the fact that this isn't the END of the world you got your RESPEC out of cav and changes can still be made. The item balance team has received more than enough feed back in one hour from in game chat than this post has given them, instead of complaining(?) why not think of a way to FIX the nerfs/buffs as in if you have another way to do so. I'll start with my shit opinion:

7 difficulty for the throwing lance didn't need to be changed, there are a LOT of throwing builds that are 18-21. What I say is change them back to 7 difficulty for now: keep them with the same amount of ammo they have, or change the amount of ammo they have back to 2 and decrease the requirement to 6.(Note: I'm saying this because it is a HUGE change for one patch even if you factor in the pierce change.) Not to mention there are A LOT of throwing weapons that require 0 slots.....

I'll assume MOST heavy cav builds were 18-21 except for all the shit lords that are level 100(YOU ARE RUINING THE GAME BALANCE). I agree completely with the changes to armor on some of the heavier horses, but 8 riding that's a lot of riding for any player that doesn't go above level 32. What I propose is simply bump them down to 7 riding, yeah you look at the page and see A LOT of 7 riding requirement horses(Maybe there are just too many horses) I'm no item balancer but what they needed to focus on is the maneuverability and speed rather than the requirement(As they already did but like with the throwing lances TOO MANY HUGE changes at once..).

I think San and Ty are fine. Stop being weird.

The recent cav changes are not a "fix," but I think they're most certainly a step in the right direction.

A community elected balancing is just a popularity contest. Besides, I don't know many people who min/max harder than those two, so what better choice for balancers?! (I kid)

Implying that there would be any other candidates. I for one am very satisfied with San and Tydeus. Both are very skilled players that have played a variety of classes and they seem very levelheaded, reasonable and devoid of bias. Exactly the people I would elect, although the notion of an election is obviously utterly retarded.

In fact, big props to both San and especially Tydeus who have been dealing very well with feedback from the community on their changes. Some of you have thrown some utterly ignorant, regressive and aggressive bullshit at them and their responses have been exemplary. Explaining their actions to people that are clearly not in a mind to listen or be reasonable and taking suggestions into account from those who are.

^

They are doing a good job. Best part is their changes are small and incremental instead of radical and spastic. Who else remembers massive changes that rendered weapons and horses completely useless with no respec option for builds? I can't remember the last time that happened, and to my knowledge since San and Tydus joined the team it hasn't happened once.

In closing, get fucked.

Least they fixed the eastern horse and moved it down to 7. Mamluke horse shouldn't have been moved to 8 because there are other horses that are way better.

I pledge minimum 20$ donation if the current item balancing team gets ditched for ones elected by the community.
Anyone else?

Archery would be nerfed out of the game and longswords would do 99 damage with 1,000 speed lol.

You should just retire at 34 like I did when they nerfed my class and slowly lose interest in playing the game and quit after a while.

Uh oh...

1. Pole sweetspot nerf

3. Been playing a lot less lately.

Does that mean.. soon.. I will be.. gone? :o :(
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

Hah!

Thanks, but I'm a shit replacement for him. I declined once, but after a week with no replacement(over a month after he stopped coming around here), I figured at the very least I could keep things from stagnating. I just don't have the proper knowledge or willingness to learn to do what he did. While I have respect for the aesthetically pleasing things, it's not something that I can get motivated about.

well yes you're right partly tydeus, we at least know your main char name; which makes me think since zagibu is probably dead some admin could tell us his ingame name. I'll later post the pms where he told me you could give us the name.

Half of the horses becoming suddenly unrideable by anyone with a balanced build.  Not spastic or radical at all. yep.

Also I could not simply "respec out of cav" without screwing up my build.  Eg having left over skill points with no place to be able to put them.

I like the idea of having an elected board of individuals to discuss potential changes.
So long as they are trustworthy, well-known, longstanding community members, I don't see why not.
Maybe there's a couple which represent each class: two 1h/shielders, two polearms, two archers, etc.
It'd probably be a shitshow to start with, but it would at least demand more involvement from more people.

I'd like that, anyway.

That's partially the idea behind the "Item Advisor" rank. Unfortunately, we only have XyNox at the moment with this rank. More importantly though, aside from just being "trustworthy, well-known, longstanding community member", they also need to have the appropriate mindset, as well as a significant amount of game mechanics knowledge beforehand. Their knowledge doesn't need to be perfect of course, but they need to know enough, to be able to ask the right questions and be able to test things properly(as well as the desire to do so). If not, then what exactly do they have to offer, that the average person couldn't?

Lately I've been interested in finding more Item Advisors to recommend, especially with me picking up the pseudo-Item Manager role, as well as the Event Management stuff. What we really need is more EU representation. (Un)fortunately I'm just not familiar enough with the EU playerbase to make and further recommendations than what I have already done.
