This is a Tarantula Hawk Wasp. In addition to being gigantic, jet black, and hunting goddamn tarantulas, its sting is extremely painful, on par with a bullet ant's.

If only documentaries presented so much diversity as well. Nowadays it is always the same old lion, crocodile, snake roundabout. I have already memorized everything I wasn't even supposed to know about them. I miss them old documentaries. They were good and curious. Mostly I would see critters like these. Not anymore. ::raises middle finger to natgeo and animal planet::
