So, anyway to nerf archers in JUST strat?

All of the soft(and hard) counters for archery are expensive compared to the relative ease of equipping an archer. Can we fix archery in strat to not be so Bullshit?

So strat may become fun in about 2-3 months.

The only way to nerf archers is to buy better armour which will be available as the round progress    the richest factions are already using some middle-rate armor.

No, they also are really expensive - its just archers know how to reuse bows - you just need to learn how to ride dead horses.

Since it's based on CRPG prices, most bows(without arrows) are cheaper than the worst (combat) horse of a rouncey. Even with arrows, most ranged archery weapons are cheaper than horses.

I'm not saying that cavalry prices aren't bullshit, but it is a fact that ranged prices were jacked up as well.

Yes archery is strong early in strat but it gets fucked hard later on.

If there was never any horses, no archery is plenty capable. Cavalry is archeries main counter.

Bow prices were increased by the same exact multiplier/ratio/whatever as pretty much everything else (ie. melee weapons), other than horses and siege equipment.

Go compare the Horn bow, Ranseur, Two Handed Sword, and Broad One Handed Axe.

Honestly I can hardly convince myself to even play in Frisia's important Strategus battles because the combat is so unbelievably, fun-numbingly broken with a bias towards ranged... and what is it, a month and a half into Strategus and I still haven't seen a single horse in NA. Doesn't even matter if you're a shielder in Strat right now, it doesn't help.

Forgive me if im wrong but the archers got buffed for this strat intentionally, The devs wanted the sky to rain arrows and also sped the fire rate of bows up just for strat battles. But not as much as they buffed large factions, cant wait to watch the larger clans steamroll who ever they want when they can afford plate and small and medium clans are struggling to arm their armies with mail. I think last strat was much better and as balanced as you ever going to get as at least everyone could afford the good gear. Im already bored with using crappy gear all the time and I think a lot of others are also and that is proven by the lack of full rosters even for the bigger battles. Yay to everyone who cried about plate armies in strat4.

p.s. I will still play it anyway as im a crpg/strat addict but to be honest I think all the changes this strat are shit and where made by narrow minded people.

Only applies to heavy cav. Light cav spend most of the fight avoiding getting shot. This changes with circumstances though, since I guess when archers get distracted by an approaching melee blob I can get some kills.

It is unfortunate that i cant play strat because lol no horses

I'm saving up massive trade wealth though and will fix that, though.
