Construction = Bannable offense...

I'm not sure if this would be the exact spot to ask for why or why not construction is a bannable offense.

However, I'll voice my complaint and wait to be heard, because this makes no fucking sense to me due to 'Engineering' on strat on the regular.

Why... Is this a bannable offense in servers such as siege. Yes, I completely understand that population fluctuates and can therefore render any attempt pointless, however, the feature of construction sites (weapons racks when completed... but that's 5 mats) being left over from round to round leads me to believe that this is a function that can be worked over time, via round by round. (This applies to battle as well)

How... Did this become and upset? If someone takes the time... The effort? Which... round by round constantly has the opportunity for enemies to come towards your construction area and therefore it be viable for destruction... Become a bannable offense? This makes no sense to me... We all have the capability to buy gear, exchange gear, and reinforce ourselves whether or not we chose that selection based on the round.

If I have it, I earned it from playing, If I can use it, I will wear it if given the opportunity. ~This, doesn't seem so far fetched for me.

I get the ammo issue... But so what? Go get some looms and + out your gear like, whoever, is equipping themselves with. Nevertheless, if I'm building a catapult/whatever I'm not building it in an exposed area (weapons rack) to continue my effort, sure that benefits the defensive/offensive team... But the offense/defensive team is completely capable of the same means.

When... Did this become a bannable offense, because hell if I knew. I've been constructing things on map infrequently since start of strat 3, did I miss some sort of notice that explained this?

This is agitating. I build things to focus my skills... We play as a whole to improve in combat so why the hell can't I hone my skills that make this game worth it to me in a fun aspect? I know I can go to 3, but build time with no threat will not improve myself, or the people I work with constantly... In addition to building on 3 I've constantly been fucked with since strat 3 trainning others in catapulting with little to no reaction from any admins besides Goat when he was in the faction I was in...

I'm a little lost in this limbo, and Jeade did address this to me and thanks dood and I won't continue unless I hear otherwise but what the fuck...?

I'd just like to understand.

you got banned?
No... No.
I wasn't banned, but threatened with.
Canary contacted me earlier with the following: (note: Canary did not make the ban threat just provided info)
Canary: it either amounts to leeching or is an exploit
Canary: gear drawn from a weapon rack isn't subject to upkeep\
Canary: several patches ago construction sites were disabled and I am pretty sure it's an oversight that they got put back in

As much as I appreciate Canary's word... This rule still makes very little sense to myself for its applicable uses in current strat.
Look, we're all broke as factions, once we start stepping on to the castle taking stage, this is going to be an extremely crucial point for it's price to some factions.
Testing the construction time and the engineers I'd work with is the most important thing to me... I'm really bummed from tonight. I don't do things to break rules and this is the first time I've really been threatened with a banning.

I guess I have the word of a Global Admin and Admin, but this still makes very little sense to me for its applicable use based on the direction of the game as is or going to be...

So, I'm going to continue to complain till I get a developers word... You established this, please explain to me why my practice is bannable? I don't care if I'm wasting my K/D and gold to deaths trying to benefit my faction, and people I game with... What's wrong with this that I'm not seeing?
I really don't care that the gold used in items pulled not being taxable, stacking multiple weapons isn't taxed? How does this differ? Wanna make it equal? Tax the 3 stacks of bolts, arrows, or throwing weapons. Tax the individual duplicate item.

Or...

Just let us play a goddamn game and have fun developing our skills.

eu3 / na3 are good for building shit

if you start building random stuff in eu2/na2 or eu1/na1 you basically dont contribute to the team, thus leeching to some extent (thats the most valid reason i can think of)
and what canary said, building a weapon rack and then pulling weapons out of it will not be considered by the upkeep thing, so you can use weapons "for free" (if i understood his point correctly)
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

That may be true, but the weapon rack + construction material are already having high upkeep (~2700 + ~400 per material) so actually that makes it even for the guys who construct it. Not for those who benefit of it later on of course. If 2-3 people build it, they pay upkeep for it probably, but those who do not spawn with that stuff, don't pay anything of course.
That makes it even for the guys who construct it (simply because there's no way to get on 2700 upkeep by weapons only (flamberge + danish are on about ~2400)).
Anyway I would generally say, people do not like it. They get quickly annoyed by others who may camp a certain spot just for the fact that they've built a weapon rack or siege shields. On siege it may be especially useful for archers/xbows/throwers to have a weapon rack as defender (and if they lack ammo they spawn again after about 25 seconds anyway).

Otherwise just build stuff on eu3/na3. There shouldn't be any harm doing it there.
Generally leeching also doesn't mean that you for example avoid upkeep (and you do probably pay upkeep if you build stuff), but that you don't make any try by killing the enemy and people already see some idling as leeching (and if you don't play like they want you to, ie. if everyone but 2 are dead, the HA/HX of the remaining two is usually considered a delayer which makes no sense at all).

Killing enemy is not the main objective in siege server.Belive me placing good siege shields and stakes are far more superior than killing few enemies.I support building things and placing obstacles in siege server on defending side. You have 6 minutes to slow down enemy attacks and placing "targets" to keep attackers busy is useful. I've seen too many retards chase kinngrimm and fail to cap the flag, too many idiots attacking stakes and siege shields which ar out of their clear path to flag . Wasting attackers time is great contribution.

Considering last 2 HA/HXs delayer in battle server is valid. There are flags now,if you are trying to kill 1-2 scattered enemy when 15 of them raising the flag you are wasting time and not realy contributing to your team. Wanna do something useful ? Kill those who raise the flag or blindly charge and end the round.

The sentences you quoted are meant for battle though, as you don't need to kill a single guy to win siege. So killing is obviously not a neccessarily part of siege. That's why I would never be against siege equipment on siege. The problem rather starts on battle.

Btw Flags do not always work properly. They are indeed popping up once one team is down to 5 people, but even if raised, round doesn't always end then.
