No repair cost for surviving a round

To attract new players, you guys should not allow repair if you survive the end of the round. If this gets out of hand with delayers you could always make it no repair if you survive and win the round.

No, if anything, it's those who yolo through the lines of enemies and feel the heat of the battle that should get rewarded and they do cuz valour so no additional rewards needed.

That would be actually the biggest incentive tool ever to be implemented toward more teamplay since the XP proximity.

Cant +1 more.

You can't really give too many tangible rewards for things like surviving because people won't have enough incentive to risk their lives. A monetary reward for surviving is a pretty bad idea imo, would result in too many players playing cautiously/selfishly

The great thing about the multi system is that it only cares about win/loss. Other systems just won't be clever enough to determine what a player's real input is into the round because there are so many variables that you can't assess with code. Now you either help your team to win enough and get more xp/gold or you don't. If you do better than most other players then you get even more of a bonus. It works pretty well imo
If you have ranged troubles use this:

This is a really small incentive. Most people in this game have more than enough gold in the game. This is more targeting new players.

I don't think so. New players usually die quickly because because they are too unexperienced to survive. They are usually unaware of the battle conditions and an easy target for cav, ranged etc.

Promoting survivability will lead to people avoiding fighting which is generally wrong.

New players aren't paying upkeep anyway...

And if this was implemented, it would give the greatest benefit to delayers and top tier players wearing godly gear. If anything that would drive away newcomers.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

There is a fine line between delaying and playing as a team.

Also +3 gear/skill/classes arent taken into account when teams are balanced by banner, so with or without this idea players with +3 are always advantaged, as are players exploiting their classes to their full extent.
Even today, you have people who delay as much as they can.

In most games I've played where there is a difference between dying and living (without regards to your team winning or not), people "fear" dying thus think more before putting their lives in danger. Most of the time it means they will play within a group to increase their chances.

The opposite side will do the same, thus there will be no overall increase in delaying, just more group fighting.

I sincerely think this idea is genius.
XP barn was problematic for people wanting to level up.
This "no repair if you survived the round" thingie will finally put a very good reason behind the upkeep  system

k, gona get myself champ mamluk and super-heavy armour and ride around. If I see my team losing, I will ride somewhere to the corner of the map and not pay for gear. seems lego. HAs won't be able to kill me in this sort of gear and other things won't catch me if I ride properly. Just take a look at Grellenort, It usually takes so much time to dismount him and after that to kill this tincan that the round is usually over b4 u kill him, if you consider that the flags appear at ~6 enemies left, who's gonna chase him if you can just put the flags up?.

It's abusable, also as ranged. You usually wear light gear as ranged and when you're in danger just drop the shit and run run run.

That would be a good case if you didnt take into account that "running off" players are going to make their team lose more than anything. And then if their team win it wont be because of them, but IN SPITE OF them.

75% of the time, the "running off" team will get picked one by one, or the "pursuing" team will just stop giving chase and focus on the most populated areas where fightings are ongoing.

Also the flag is actually a good synergy with that idea, since it will both give incentive for people to move as groups AND toward a single common goal toward the mid-end round.
The team that will try to run off in all directions will be doubly nerfed.

How is that gonna attract new players? I don't get it.
More like it's gonna attract tincans riding around on plated chargers never worried by upkeep.

Upkeep is the least problem for new players, they are equally bad in any gear if they are bad. If you want to attract newcomers, remove or modify looms, that would have a much greater/better impact.

Seems like OP is just frustrated by having to pay upkeep while rolling on x5.

Sry but that will just enchourage me not to give a fck about flags and just kite and keep away till the end of the round. I play HA with a heavy horse and the longer the round lasts the higher my repair chances are, at this moment I can't do anything if I remain alone, mosty I suicide charge or try to farm valor so this could really benefit my class but would make the experience for other players really lame.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

I think the OP idea doesnt take into account survivors from the losing team, at least thats what I understood.

If this gets out of hand with delayers you could always make it no repair if you survive and win the round.
