Funny thing is that this only works as long as few people do it. If everyone on the server would do it there would be no one confidently charging anyone and the amount of clues about who is friend or foe would drop to near zero. Two people playing without banners staring at eachother and having no way of working out whether to attack or not. A server with this would be terrible and basically come down to how well you rememberd the guys that spawned with you.

Also, sadly I don't know what nick you use zagibu, but thanks for the info on your playstyle. I would totally try to win your trust by appearing non threathening and then whack your skull in after having followed you around for a while

Obligatory heraldic armor with team heraldics, not every single player having his clanban

Would be cool imo
I loot corpses of their golden teeth.
But he'll be around somewhere between Heaven and The Devil, because neither of them will take him in, and he'll be farting loudly and singing a filthy song.

i'll be there at around

At least you do that on siege, thats probably a bit easier to guess who's friend or foe. And on siege there's not many cav, if some at all.
On battle you may be able to notice who's on your side in the early time of the round by checking armor/banners and the same spawn. Later on you probably have some difficulties if you just see someone pass by.
"Attack or not".

But if you start hitting a friend and he does not react but probably report you, you won't notice it. ^^

No banners?
Attractive asses?
FUN?!

How DARE you call this immersive!
Yes, been posted before. Rather than practicing swinging a weapon, it would be better to go 1 hander and learn a martial art that specializes in takedowns, because that's all that really matters in that sport.

I would applaud if the chadz team were going for "hardcore" settings like that for their new game  :D

If its only a "possibility" and people can switch banners/visual help on, noone will use it (except crazy guys like you zagibu) since it causes a massive unbalance.

Time to play like this with my archer alt!!

It's not like it will change anything when I shoot into duels...

:D
So the new response to ranged ragers is not "get a shield", it is "learn to chamber ranged nub!"

I like the idea but after trying it for 10 minutes worked out why coloured tunics etc were worn when fights between similarly equipped armies happened. Its ok if you are with alot of clanmates/old players you can recognise but otherwise it doesnt work very well.

Strat battles with everyone wearing heraldic armours/barding would be good.

I recently started to play like this:
- banners off on friends and foes alike
- ctrl + h

This means you can't tell friend from foe, which means you have to play defensively, and see if the dude running at you actually attacks or just passes you by. It's a lot of fun. It also encourages team play, because it works best if you follow someone you are certain is a friend, then attack the same dudes together.

If you want, first person view for even more immersion, but personally, I like to look at my character's ass.

Does it mean you also have no way to know whether you were killed by an enemy or teamkilled by ally?
